I did it twice and the first time I had three one dollar charges. This time I had seven but they were all only pending and never got charged.

Late night 1/4 early am charge $200; 1/5 posted; 1/6 credited (didn't show until 1/7 am)

Many merchants do this to verify that a card is valid. Those charges never post. and we never saw them until it became fashionable to allow cardhoiders to see pending transactions.

The following terms and conditions apply to the purchase and usage of a united.com gift registry:

1. Valid for use on flights operated by United and United Express® only.

Do the Travel Bank funds appear when you finalize a ticket purchase on UA.com?

Is there an option to use those funds as well as a credit card to pay for the ticket?

You can apply travel bank funds to a ticket purchase and pay the remaining amount with credit card, yes.

Yes travel bank funds do appear on the payment page and if you choose to use them then you can only use a credit card if the total value of the ticket is more than the money in travel bank. You will have to exhaust all your travel bank funds before you can use a credit card.

Same timeline for me on all 5 amex cards between me and my spouse.

I tried to use my credit on a UA codeshare flight on Air Canada and it would not allow me to apply the balance.
