CAUTION: In February 2019, American Airlines changed the coding of gift card transactions. Although there are a few successful data points since, in general, Gift Card purchases are now explicitly identified, and no longer reimbursed by American Express.

Reminder: you must enroll and select your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. http://www.americanexpress.com/airlinechoice -or- "Call the number on the back of your Card to select a qualifying airline."

Data Points on automatically reimbursed incidentals since 2017:

Admirals Club Memberships: Admirals Club Passes: Admirals Club Food/Drinks: Award Cancellation Fee*: Award Taxes/Fees: Baggage*: Change Fee*: Close-In Ticket Fee*: Elite 500-mile Stickers: Elite Challenges: External Reservation Fee: Five Star Service: Infant Fees: MCE/Seat Selection: Mileage Multipler: Pet Fee*: Same Day Flight Change: Upfares: Upgrades:
Wifi is provided by one of three third-party providers and is thus not eligible for the incidental credit.

* For items not automatically reimbursed but which are not excluded by Amex, you can try and request manual reimbursement from American Express; however, you may need to wait 14-28 days first.

$100 AA e-gift card reimbursed.

What is the best comparison site to sell AA e-gift cards?

That's exactly what I posted a few days ago. Reimbursed for a $100 and a $150. There were a couple of other folks who were reimbursed for $150 recently, which is why I took a shot on it.

Nothing yet. I'm hoping I'll receive credit on them shortly. If not I've got 210 in bag fees coming up next month.
My two seat selection fees on AA were both re-imbursed (Amex Plat)

Agreed. Remember, your week includes a two-day weekend and the Veterans Day bank holiday.

I went on AA's website and got 3 gift cards (100, 100, 50) and just now noticed it posted as one transaction on my Amex card (250) I doubt it will post as no one else seemed to get anything over 150 but I will report back. I still plan on buying individual gift cards as I'm looking at a $500 flight anyway

Is it still the case that you can't use the GC right when you purchase? I might purchase an AA flight later today but don't really want to be stuck with $100 GC if I can't use it.

When I bought an eGC, it delivered right away but couldn't be used for 48 hours.
