OK, but I'm sure Minnesota is in the US.
It has been difficult for European (excluding the UK) supermarkets to accept Visa and MC cards, let alone AmEx. Aldi and Lidl have only recently started accepting Visa and MC in the UK.
That Aldi Germany accept AmEx cards is a genuine improvement.
