And its gone........... Link says offer expired. I applied this morning at 7:30am was going to wait then decided not to. I got an error saying system down try again later. But, then an hour later got and approval email.
I started a chat session and got confirmation that I was in for the 100k for 3k spend in 92 days.
All the other sites are saying this is now only for those targeted.
PS although you cant print or email a chat you can get a chat record locator.
AMEX saves chats and the locator will let them verify what the rep told you.

What do people think happened here? Did someone post a referral link that wasn't supposed to be public (perhaps trying to rack up a lot of referrals)? Or perhaps this was this a link that was only supposed to be accessible by targeted people but it worked for the unwashed masses?
On another site, people are claiming to have known about this link for months. Perhaps people were even selling access to it.

Amex reps are reportedly confirming that people approved yesterday are enrolled in the 100,000 offer, but it's unclear if they're aware that the offer was apparently made public by mistake. My guess is that the offer will be honored, but it might take a few days for the dust to settle.

Application was pending ..... Called in ... They just wanted to confirm identity .... Approved! 100k here I come. Thank god I applied the minute I saw the offer
