It's $250 on $5000 spend, not $500 spend. (That's an extra 5% cashback, which isn't bad at all for a cashback card, but certainly not 50% cashback, which is what $250 on $500 spend would be! )

So you have to spend 25K to receive $500 back. This is not as good as the targeted offer last year of $300 back for 3K with the Simply Cash card.

I went through the terms and conditions. Looks like it's credited automatically on the second billing statement.

Yes, Amex has the same policy with its cashback cards that it has with its MR cards; points or cashback two statements after spend.

Does the cashback show as "pending" on the first statement or later though ? I know that MR points show as pending and later get added to the total balance. I remember I used to call AMEX in the past to have them credit the cashback during the timeframe of the second statement which was why I cancelled the Simply Cash card and went with Ink.
