Did you receive this offer unsolicited, or did you call in to discuss canceling?

Doesn't Schwab automatically give $100 credit annually when one maintains his/her brokerage balance at a certain threshold?

New for me today:

Get 4,000 additional Membership Rewards points one-time* by using your enrolled Card to spend $300+ on room rate and room charges, when you pay for your stay at Marriott (all brands per T & C) from 12/15/2017 to 2/28/2018.

* You don't get points for each additional $300 spending, cumulative multiple stays look ok.

Do you think you can split a room charge over 2 cards and still quality twice?
i.e. one bonus for me and one for the spouse

Yes. If you have the offer on both cards, no problem. Even for prepaid reservations, I've had them refund the card I prepaid with and charge new ones at checkout or the night before. I've split charges at many hotels, many different brands. I once split a $720ish 3 night stay over 7 credit cards at a Best Western, saved $20 on each card.

If it's easier, you might also be able to put down a "deposit" of $300 on one card at check-in, and use the other card for the balance and incidentals. I've done that as well.

if replying to me, i was referring to when my starwood statement said that some future amex offers on starwood card will include bonus starpoints (and that marriott owns starwood and is doing amex points but not SPG)

although maybe make sense for marriott, if they dont want to give SPG then have people convert to 3 marriott points

I think the idea was that you won't see any SPG point offers until at least after the current rebate expires on 1/31.

The last Marriott offer was on my SPG Personal and Business cards in addition to the other charge and credit cards, $150/30 ended Oct 31.

I believe Kagehitokiri's observation is that SPG cardholders are not seeing any Offers for bonus Starpoints, only for dollars, even though Marriott is offering bonus Membership Rewards points on other cards. This may not be unique to Starwood. Do Delta cards offer bonus Skymiles, do Hilton cards offer bonus Honors points, or are all of the Offers for cash?

Another noteworthy feature of cash rebates due to AmEx Offers came to mind: they do earn negative rewards. Sometimes it becomes more obvious when the rebate appears on a later statement than the associated purchase.

Were you looking over my shoulder this morning?

12/14/2017 Earned Blue for Business-XX008 -175
The offer also caused a credit balance on the account. The autopay algorithm did not reduce the payment by the amount of the offer credit, which posted in the billing period after the qualifying transaction.
