We know about California. I asked because the post implied that there are gift cards that can be bought without surcharge period. Anyways... thanks

In the past Sams would add the surcharge amount to the Sams GC balance since they can't overcharge for their own GCs -- not sure if its still the case

$40 Sams GC + $4 surcharge = they would send a $44 GC

True; I bought a $50 VGC (actually now that I think about it might have been MasterCard but same difference) for $53.88 (free shipping). Figure I still came out $11 ahead

I am indeed a Calif resident FWIW.

I don't think there's a limit on how many offers you can actually add but a limit of how many you can see (100). If you have more than 100, the interface lets you just see the 100 with the earliest expiration dates, but ones that expire later are still active.

... the credit was posted silently 6 days after the purchase.
I got this on my Everyday and purchased a Fuddrucker's gift card pack. Spent $39.99 for $50 face value. After the Amex Offer that's 50% off for a few dinners
And thanks for the heads up that there would be no e-mail and the credit appears anyway.

I too, plan to buy restaurant GCs as Sam's GCs in the past have had tons of activation issues. Do your 3rd party GCs arrived pre-activated no issue? TIA for info.

They do arrive pre-activated, and come in a generic shipping envelope so thieves shouldn't be able to determine there's a cash-equivalent inside.

Amex Offers for non Amex issued cards

Just received an email to link a credit union issued Amex card with offers. Not a lot of offers, but something is better than nothing these days. Links is to https://www.americanexpress.com/us/n.../shopping.html

Hi guys, I have a question about the Amextravel.com 10,000 MR point offer.

I understand that I must use the Amextravel.com portal earn these points, but that portal also some FHR listings as well. If I book a FHR listing will I get the 10,000 points, as long as I never leave Amextravel.com?

Thanks,
Heli

The offer requires a prepaid hotel booking. Have you found a prepaid FHR rate?

Sorry for the newb question, but how do I tell if a listing is prepaid? I'm guessing then that most FHR rates are not prepaid?

I'm wondering if this coincides with the OPEN discounts disappearing as of today?

There's a new Amex offer that DoC highlighted for $20 off $100 or more on Hilton gift cards. It showed up on all of SO's cards plus my AU card for a total of 6 offers. Can't decide if it's worth buying these gift cards since I tend to only use points to stay at Hiltons. Anyone have any experience using them and is it difficult to unload them at overseas properties.
