Prepaid but swiped the card at the front desk for the resort fees - my resort fees got mlife points but NOT any of the prepaid portion (and with tax the resort fees are almost $50 a day now at the Bellagio!)

so vegas doesnt have the "Pay At Hotel" option anymore? I dont see it. this makes it hard to use amex offers and split payments. i dont have any recent FHR bookings but im pretty sure all prepaids are coded as "AMEX FINE HOTELS RES" like before. anyone know?

This makes sense. The 5X prepay option represents a trade-off between MR points and hotel loyalty credits.

so in your experience, specifically for vegas properties, if you prepay 5x MR then no mlife or hyatt credit? man. that totally sucks because i dont see an option to "Pay At Hotel" anymore. looks like prepay is the only option. but supposedly its YMMV depending on the property and chain outside vegas. still trying to look for more DPs.

Data point. Stayed at Delano for one night (fight night) comped through mlife on 1/19/2019 (seemed like a very generous possible-glitch -- rooms were going for $700+ there and most properties were sold out for the fight).
Stayed at Bellagio the next night on Amex FHR, booked entry level basic room and paid $150 at check-in to upgrade to fountain-view Bellagio suite (pretty nice with 2.5 bathrooms).
1. Sent folios for both stays to Hyatt Concierge and got night credit & points -- looks like points were only for items on folio and not for the prepaid amount for Bellagio, but 5x amex on that makes up for the 6.5x hyatt. I'm not sure whether I got mlife tier credits for the stay, but I did get 36,000 tier credits for the weekend (and won a sizable chunk of change at the tables and on the fight, so all in all can't complain ^)
2. Amex FHR benefit at Bellagio was $100 spa credit but the spa was fully booked for the evening of check-in, so I asked for $100 F&B instead and (after agent asked manager) received it.
3. Bellagio's $60 FHR breakfast credit was applied to F&B generally -- only spent $18 on breakfast, but two credits ($100 and $60) applied to the bill that ended up pretty much covering dinner & drinks at Yellowtail.
4. The dolphin thing and secret garden with the tigers was surprisingly worth the detour. Probably wouldn't pay for it but definitely worth using as a freebie (though I suppose I got that as a Platinum mlife member and not through FHR?)

1) was your FHR letter just like post 930?
2) did your amex 5x MR FHR prepay code as "AMEX FINE HOTELS RES"?
3) a few DPs mention amex 5x MR FHR prepay does NOT get any credit automatically for mlife/hyatt (nights or points) for the amex prepay portion. since you had to send in the folio to your glob concierge, does that mean nothing posted automatically for you (except for the remaining balance paid upon checkout)? in many cases, 5x MR is huge vs hyatt points, but for longer stays and expensive rooms, not getting any mlife credit hurts. but at least you can send the folio in for hyatt night credits and i hope that qualifies for hyatt promos as well.
4) did you try settling the folio without an amex? i know its YMMV based on FD agent, but curious how strict they are.
5) was your $150 upgrade for the Chairman's Lounge Experience? helps to know for vegas properties you can book FHR then pay for an upgrade without issues.
6) i assume the $60 FHR breakfast credit was $30 x 2? good to know its a flexible credit that can be applied to all dining. i believe most FHR letters state which specific restaurants have to be used for the brkfst credit. sounds like they are not being super strict about that. maybe thats YMMV.

appreciate your DP. sounds like you robbed the place. nice. hoping you can answer a few questions:

1) at delano i didn't have a letter because it was an mlife comp. but my bellagio letter was similar to post 930, except that it specified a few venues for breakfast, and the $100 was listed as spa-only
2) yes it did
3) correct, nothing posted automatically. i don't chase casino status so i have no idea whether any of my mlife tier credits were from the prepaid amex hotel spend. (last year, i only had 1,000 tier credits and they comped me the other 199k to keep the platinum status i'd earned the previous year -- so after that, i'm not inclined to care about earning it)
4) i had no reason to, so no
5) no, i was just negotiating an upgrade from a basic non-view room to a suite with a fountain view. i was negotiating this at the front desk (and wasn't going to use a lounge) but given that it was a long weekend and a popular fight weekend, i was very happy with $150 when the delta in room rates was far more than that
6) yes, $30 x 2. but YMMV -- for all i know, mine was a glitch. my letter specified 4 or 5 venues that served breakfast. they might have loosened up on me only because they agreed to use the spa credit towards F&B as well. or because i was playing $250/hand blackjack. i have no idea.

Headed to Vegas in a few weeks
Given I don’t need much Spa time, I was thinking of staying 3 nights at bellagio.
doing
night 1 - chase LHC
night 2 - Amex fhr
night 3 - Chase LHC
hopefully the bellagio will let me get all three 100 dollar credits (2 x 100 bev, and 1 x 100 spa). I just need to check in/out each day if I read correctly.
wish me luck!

Palazzo FHR $40/night premium worth it?
Hi all,
Looking to book Palazzo for 3 nights for 2 people. FHR is showing a nightly rate $40 higher than venetian website. Full price come to a $150 difference. Are the benefits worth the premium? Is the $65 breakfast still there?
Thx!

Value is usually personal and subjective. In Vegas, the early check-in and late checkout are pretty valuable (Mandalay Bay wands $50 for a 1pm check out on a normal booking), but not if you're flying in at 6pm and flying out at 10am. Will someone in your party use the $100 spa credit? Would you skip breakfast otherwise or eat a cheaper meal?
