Palazzo Breakast
Stayed last week at the Palazzo. The $65 credit initially was said to be for in room dining only. Perhaps that's new?
I asked about the Grand Lux for breakfast and the agent checked with their supervisor. This was approved for my stay. However, breakfast at Grand Lux may now be more YMMV.
The stay also counted as an IHG qualifying stay and standard points along with promotion points were posted.

Another stay at the Mandarin this past weekend- 3/23 - 3/27. Got a pre-arrival e-mail requesting flight info and was told check-in was at 3. Mentioned FHR in my reply, and in the follow-up that was not acknowledged, but the 3 pm check-in was restated. Decided to wait and see how that played when I got there. Arrived at the hotel at 1:30, and was checked in and upgraded one room level to a Strip View. They still give you a sheet with the FHR amenities listed. Breakfast credit was $51, which we used at both MOzen and in-room, although in-room was not automatically taken off and I had to mention this at check-out, which I did at the desk instead of on the TV because the TV check-out (again) didn't work. Offered 4 pm check-out, but didn't need it. Their standard check-out is noon.
Probably still the best hotel on the Strip. They got rid of the live music on the weekends at their bar though, which was unfortunate.

FHR had some great 4 for 3 night offers in LAS last summer - this led to a couple of great value stays for us. These offers appear to be non-existent at the moment. Is there a pattern or timing to these things that anyone is aware of?
Thanks

And can $65 get a decent breakfast for room service? Do they tack on non-reimbursable delivery fees for that?
Have an upcoming stay with a group, about 7 rooms booked via FHR (multiple cardholders) so would be good to advise the others who are decidedly non-FTers.

Just finished the 2nd part of my stay at Encore through FHR. Booked a tower suite and was upgraded to a parlour suite no problem. Received the $80 breakfast credit daily for me and my wife with no issues and she used the $100 spa credit (which doesn't go far by the way). The Tower Suites are really something. This was my 3rd stay at Encore but first in the Tower Suites. First off, the separate check-in/out is really something. The line can be absurdly long especially on Fridays and Sundays. So not having to deal with that after a long flight is awesome. Additionally, the Tower Suites come with 4 free clothes pressings per day which is great for business travel. There's also a beautiful lobby and a reception area with free coffee and tea plus some pastries. Plus the level of service in the Tower is just perfection.
My only complaint with the Tower Suites is that they used to waive the resort fee for Tower Suites guests but now you have to pay. So it does drop the value a bit. But, for the little things it adds, its still pretty amazing.

Interesting - was there a time restriction noted for the breakfast, either at Grand Lux or in-room?

Palazzo CONCIERGE suites, and Breakfast credit
anyone stay at the concierge suites thru FHR?
cause it includes the concierge lounge.. so do you get that on top of the breakfast credit?
that might be overkill

I have another Palazzo or Venetian FHR question. I gave them my IHG RA number, and they say it is in the system, but it does not show up in my IHG reservation list. Has anyone done this before? Any issues?

Went on my yearly March Madness kickoff trip to Vegas. Some may recall when I posted about my negative Bellagio 4pm checkout experience last year around this time. To make a long story short they tried to deny me it in order to flip rooms during March Madness. It involved me reading the definition of the word "guaranteed" to the manager on duty and her disagreeing with it..AMEX and a more experienced level headed manager came through in the end.
This time we decided to stay at the Palazzo. The check in process was quick and easy. We skipped the line by using the VIP guest check in. We used the Vegas sandwich even though upgrades are supposed to be a given. This had the lady who helped us upfront go above and beyond in trying to land us an upgrade. She even tried to put us in The Venetian but a manager put a squash on that because FHR upgrades aren't Venetian eligible.
She offered us a smaller suite with a better view but we declined. She threw in 2 free cots (might be the most amazing cots I've ever seen in my life lol) instead which saved us some money.
Overall the checkout process was easy. 4pm. All credits were applied without asking. The food ordered was throughout the day and was not limited to breakfast. We didn't make use of the credit on the last day so that money was used to cover the previous days where we went over the $65 ( i think that's what it was) mark. Didn't have a chance to hit the Spa (good intentions in Vegas usually fall victim to extreme hangovers). So that credit was wasted.
Next year we will be back at the Bellagio due to a host of reasons. Location, the VIP lounge, the service there being superior (even with the 4pm checkout debacle) and the suites are just nicer. Nothing against the Palazzo of course.
