Still alive and kicking
For any still wondering, the offer is still available. I just opened 10 private browser windows, and after about the 5th try it showed up with the 50k offer after $1,000 spend.
I applied for this offer a week or so ago. Met minimum spend on the 14th, transactions posted on the 15th, made a payment on the 15th, but no points yet.

Applied and approved for 50K offer on 4/14. Last Amex account closed ten years ago, and have been receiving offers for them for years, so I'm guessing that is why it wasn't hard for me to get this offer to appear.
I just checked for pre-qualified offers - this wasn't one of them, but then clicked on the list of personal credit cards and found the 50K offer. Figured I might as well bite the bullet, I need a better everyday spend card.

Both the missus and I applied and was approved instantly for the PRG 50k offer after $1k spend. I've had a Platinum card some years back during the 100k offer, but neither my wife nor I have had a PRG before.
Had to do it incognito in Chrome and Firefox to get the link to work.

Yes, but you should be able to obtain a higher return transferring to an airline program such as BA (to fly an AA), DL, or AC (to fly to UA). See the Wikipost at the top of this thread:

Who are the other airlines offer such deals routinely - I use both AA network and United Alliance. I am open to others. Thanks
