Ok... why no one wanna try the same name search to apply for the card? The only thing you can not edit on the form is the first name and last name... as long as you change the address and fill in your details.. I think it should be fine... isn't it?

Can't you use "inspect element" to change the details that are filled out on the app?

There is a signicture send together from cardmatch to amex.. that noway to decrypt .. and I bet that will do a check on submit. It better to go from cardmatch with your name to Amex to start with...

I tried this (thank god my name is not that common and I had <20 combinations to try). After seeing multiple 60ks, my final attempt was a 100k. Filled out the application with the correct address/other info, got to the confirmation page, and then received the dreaded "Error Page" others have gotten with a copy/paste or edited application.

After trying a few different ways to find the offer, I found it. However, I believe if you already have any type of AMEX they won't give you the bonus. I got the same errors, and if I go through the actual website its only a 40k point offer.

So just checked for the offers and didn't get anything but my Dad checked and got the 50k Gold and 100k Plat but those show up for him on Amex's website also.

It does say "We've partnered with major issuers to show even better offers to well-qualified customers like you."

If only you could edit the name...

Dude, are you reading this thread before you post? Simply count the posts of those who were able to successfully access the offer and the answer should be obvious to you.

TPG is the OP and he has a relationship with CardMatch. With a single post he was able to start a stampede of clickers to their site. I'm not hating on the guy for it, I'm actually rather amused at how well it worked.

I am however surprised at the fact that the stampede is continuing and that people have yet to figure out that they have been played.

I'm considering selling my beachfront home in Kansas for a dirt cheap price. It has a stunning unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean. It's yours for $100. Please send me a PM if you're interested. Reply by Friday and I'll throw in 100K MR points.

We aren't getting played; it's real

We are not getting played. I checked on the day TPG posted that article and got a bunch of filler cards. Today, I see the two offers (Gold and Plat) but mine is 50K for the gold and 60K for the plat.

My wife was targeted (snail mail) a few months ago for the 100K offer, so I'm keen to figure out how to get the same. Ideas? Call Amex?

TPG and Creditcards.com have more than just a relationship both websites are owned by the same company, Bank Rate.

Your post was the first time I've heard that TPG was owned by Bankrate.com (owner of CardMatch). Any indication that TPG is owned by Bankrate (which also owns CardMatch) is ommited from the TPG site (I wonder why?). Thank God for Google, because a quick search reveals this;

On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for THE POINTS GUY by BANKRATE, INC., NORTH PALM BEACH, FL 33408. The USPTO has given the THE POINTS GUY trademark serial number of 85351809. The current federal status of this trademark filing is REGISTERED. The correspondent listed for THE POINTS GUY is Carl J. Spagnuolo of McHale & Slavin, P.A., 2855 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens FL 33410-2910 . The THE POINTS GUY trademark is filed in the category of Computer & Software Products & Electrical & Scientific Products , Advertising, Business & Retail Services , Transportation & Storage Services . The description provided to the USPTO for THE POINTS GUY is Promoting the goods and services of others by providing a website featuring price-comparison information and discount information.

Yep...We've been played.
