Wow, you are quite the troll who has all the helpful answers. I didn't suggest scamming AMEX, I'm simply wondering if I can spend my airline credit next year before the annual fee is due. So could I spend it in the first 7 days of the year or so and cancel and still get the airline credit.

It easy to get the offer show up, just put in other people name and address, but after you click on the link, the form will prefilled with the person name, you can not change it... so even you found an offer, you can not change it to yours anyway....

No troll. Simply trying to tell you that one cannot scam AMX out of the AF of this card. If I'm not wrong, you've already asked this question in another post and were given the same response by another user.

The AF hits on the 1st statement.

Ok... I think the could work.. but need someone to try it out.. as I have had this card before..

If you look up a person who has the same name as your that never has an amex card before.. you will most likely see the special offer from cardmatch and after you click apply now. The form will pre-propulated your name and the address of other person... just change the adreess and apply as yoursslf... this could work...

If you couldn't find any one who has the same name. Try enter just the first letter of the first name of a person who has the same lastname and firstname that start with the same letter as yours on card match.

Good luck.

You are wrong and I still don't think you are understanding the question. Anyways, Lucky was able to understand my question and answer it so I'm good...

"If you get the card now you can absolutely do a fee credit now and then again the first week of January of next year. Shouldn’t be an issue."

I agree. People are just bitter. The deal is out there for some people. I did find a friend of mine who did get the 100,000 point offer. I went into the application and then changed all information to be mine. When you submit the application it errors out saying:

Currently, our systems are not responding. Please try again later or call/contact us as follows:

This seems to be an effort to drive clicks through to CardMatch from the bloggers.

Ok, so I input my info plus my parents' info and didn't come back with the 100,000 point offer. But when I entered my little brother's info it did! I wonder if it's targeted towards younger folks with less credit history, cause he's only 23 and has very little credit history. I tried his info because in one of the earlier posts someone mentioned that it came up for their daughter who was very young. Anyways, I clicked apply, but it does only take you to a form with pre-filled information such as name and address, so I couldn't use my brother's link to apply for a card for me. Also, when I clicked "go to shorter application" and entered my amex login and password, the offered changed back to only 40,000 points. So I guess this is strictly targeted and I can't post the ink to the offer because it is prefilled with my brother's name and address...and I wouldn't want that publicized :P

Also, for my brother's offer, this is the wording "If we identify you as currently having an American Express® Card account, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have or have had a Platinum Card® account enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program." So that means since I already have Amex cards event if I could apply I probably won't get my welcome bonus? Boo!

There are ways around the prefilled information, but it errors out when you try to submit it after changing the info. Also, the link does not transfer, if you were to try and open it in another browser it would not work. So sharing the link is useless unfortunately. I don't think there is a way to get this deal without being targeted from what I can tell.

I applied for the Platinum Card via a targeted 100,000 MR point offer after $3,000 in spend on 12/15 and was approved after calling for follow up. I forgot my credit reports were locked so needed to jump through an extra hoop. Was out of town when the card arrived and upon calling to activate on 12/24 they claimed the bonus was 40,000 MR points after $3,000 spend in the first 92 days.

Been jumping through hoops trying to get them to honor the application I filled out.

Still in a bit of a process while the MR team "investigates."

It bugs me because I wouldn't have applied for the if it wasn't for the 100,000 point bonus.

For reference, I received the targeted offer around my 22nd birthday in December.

Offer received through US Postal Service? eMail? Displayed in your americanexpress.com account?

Yes, I agree that Amex are now targeting the younger crowd for this bonus offer. For the life of me, I cannot understand why they're doing this. Anyway the spend was $3000 in 30 days for 100k MR points.
