I've already explained that your premise is incorrect. If you close a 5 year old card today, in 3 years, that card is 8 years old for the purposes of FICO account age, just as if you didn't close it. I don't know any simpler way to explain it.

Is it possible to product change to a card that I already have?
Let's say I have a Gold now, can I downgrade a Platinum to a second gold?

Is it possible to change MB Plat to vanilla Plat? The reason is that I am not able to generate a 15k referral link from MB Plat.

Product change of MR cards

Hopelessly optimistically, I know, but can you product change from any given Amex MR card to another? And if not, within which subgroups are changes possible? I wouldn’t mind upgrading my EveryDay card to the Platinum.

Alas, American Express does not permit product changes between credit cards (such as Everyday) and charge cards (such as Platinum), nor between personal and business cards.

Can you downgrade Business Rewards Gold to Blue Business Plus?

I tried downgrading the Business Rewards Gold to the Blue Business Plus (to avoid the AF). Representative indicated this was not possible. Has anyone succeeded in doing this? Or is it useless to keep trying?

Hilton Business is a new product, and I do not recall any reports, but please let us know the outcome.

Generally speaking, I don't think you can downgrade from a co-branded card to a card in a different family.
