Any recent experience Sunday afternoon at SEA?

we are leaving on a ~4pm UA flight on Sunday in a couple of weeks, and wondering if it’s worth trying to stop in Will there likely be a waitlist at this time? Probably would arrive ~3pm and for about an hour (family of 4, if it matters).

I believe there is at least 1, maybe even 2?, PP lounges closer to the UA gates, so trying to figure out if it’s even worth trying at CL, or it’s better to just go to one of the closer options.

No ground breaking news here, but...

Arrived around 7am. No wait to get in, app said "almost full" (as it always does ), several open tables, a lot of tables with reserved signs. Food was a nice spread actually. Better than I remember from back in Sept & Oct.

No way around it, but it is a tight lounge but pretty good still. We were thinking of buying an AS day pass for the N gates, but decided to use our Cap1X PP at Trail Head BBQ and then ce to the AMEX lounge rather than spend $60 per person at AS.

Looks like the same breakfast I had there this Saturday. Did you try the ricotta toast with berry compote? I thought it sounded odd, gave it a go on a lark, and ... now I know why I've never seen it on a menu anywhere else in my life. Frittata and sausage was solid though.

Was actually able to get into the lounge this afternoon with the fam (failed at SFO on Thursday...30 minute+ wait). Just a short wait...5 minutes maybe. It was nice to be escorted in by an agent who Brought us straight to a reserved table for parties of 3 or more. Must say that was pretty nice.'

A relatively small (at least using DEN as a guideline) buffet, but it was decent. Given a vegetarian family (and one vegan), was happy with the amount of options - that's often hard. Only one meat-based main (was a beef dish), and then chicken soup, everything else was vegetarian - there was only one vegan option, but not surprised about that.. There was also potato-leak soup, which didn't state anything on it, so may have been a chicken broth base...not sure. They had mixed greens and a berry spinich feta salad, with other veg and sliced hard-boiled egg you could add on, a citrus pea salad, roasted potatoes, cheese tortellini with a pesto cream sauce, pita chips with hummus, and I'm sure I'm missing someting else. Forgot to take a photo. Didn't notice much in the dessert dept., definitely not on the main buffet, and maybe it was on one of the side tables somewhere, but wasn't particularly looking, honestly.

Food was nothing fancy, but pretty good.

Managed to get in last week without a wait, though it was at 100% capacity and this was 6:30am. They had an absolutely delicious berry ricotta toast out, highly recommend grabbing it if you see it because once the first tray was out I never saw more brought out. Everything else was alright, but the expansion can't come quick enough.

Rumor has it that August 2022 is the opening date for the new SEA lounge.

The employee stated "7 years too late."

Was there on a recent Monday early morning (Last week)...slight few minute wait, but that was due to processing new entries, as once done, was seated promptly - but people behind me might have needed to wait.

Went to Delta SkyClub earlier - was VERY BUSY. More busy then I've ever seen it, but the SkyClub is huge, so not hard to find a seat. Got bored and went to check out the Amex CL lounge. Don't usually travel on holidays...so that's what I chalk it up to.

On my return trip to SEA yesterday, I stopped at SFO Centurion Lounge for the first time. Very noisy and packed. The layout of SFO CL is very bad. The space is just too small. Existing SEA lounge, even when it's busy doesn't feel as congested as SFO. LAS Vegas CL also doesn't feel claustrophobic when busy - been there when it was busy and wide open (yesterday at 5am).

Interesting that it would be August as they still have a ton of work and finishes to complete in the center lobby. SEA really needs more space.

Ah, SEA. Where even if you go in with zero expectations you're still disappointed.

Sunday at 9:45 AM still meant a line. It didn't help they had one agent on duty and they only let one person in to check n at a time.

And check out these garbage hours!

The lounge was standing room only. They found me a spot at that long table on the right wedged between two people

Food was the usual slop. Hot options were some sausage and egg dish and oatmeal. Yahoo.

While I have no idea where they are going to find the staffing, there is a new, larger lounge coming in SEA.

When this lounge opened it wasn't promised to be a regular Centurion Lounge, it was a Studio. It doesn't have a kitchen and when it opened it only had cold snacks. It also had windows, which got covered up when the DL SkyClub was built right outside its walls.

So... cut them a little slack, the expectations totally outran the space. I'm just hoping that they can hire to staff the new lounge and get it open. And it's got to go back to 5am to 10pm (preferably more like midnight to handle overnight transcons and the late Alaska departure banks.)

Anybody have any intel about opening date of new lounge? Someone said they heard from an employee that it was August, but I haven't heard that at all from official channels, so it seems unlikely.

It very well could be August - I can't recall the last time Amex gave the public more than a few days notice of an exact lounge opening date, and usually they don't even mention the month of when it will be opening.

I arrived in the lounge at 4:45pm. At 5:00 an announcement was made that the bar was now closed. The lounge closed at 5:30pm. I received no notice of this when I checked in.

Is this the new normal? Why is the lounge closing so early?
