Platinum airline fee $200 reimbursement reports: NK (Spirit) only
I didn't find a thread exclusively for NK so pardon me if this has been mentioned.
I designated NK as my airline for the incidental credit for this year. Spirit offered customer the opportunity to purchase bags at a lower price during ticket purchase, so I did. However, the incidental charge would not be picked up by AMEX since it will reflect as a ticket purchase. So just a heads-up. I ended up calling AMEX to have the charge manually credited. |
Regardless I fly with NK or not, I would not have designated NK for the $200 incidental.
My concern is FR will be triggered by NK purchases. People get triggered for FR because they use the cards in places like Walmart or MCD. |

FR for those two merchants? Really? |

FR for those two merchants? Really? Walmart and MCD are signs. |
Feeling dumb that I can't find a thread/sticky for Spirit Airlines. I've chosen them for the year and I would be happy to report what works and what doesn't.
Thanks! |
Does anyone have recent experiences with getting fee credited on Spirit? I am contemplating buying bags while buying ticket or later. TIA!
|
FYI. I booked really cheap tickets and paid for the bags at the time of booking. Shows as one charge on AMEX bill. Representative said it will probably clear the entire charge in 3-4 weeks, as it was under $100, but if it didn't, they would manually credit the cost of the bags ($42). Yay I guess?

Also does purchasing Big Front Seat qualify for the credit? Technically it's not an upgrade per se, but you're selecting seats.
Also what's up with the FR trigger due to flying with NK? I did it number of times and nothing happened. I pay for products and services based on my need (ain't paying premium for the mediocre services from the Big 3), if AmEx wants FR I'll just close my accounts. Let's see if there's any DP regarding this. |

Update, it looks like my purchase of Big Front Seat triggered the credit, so this is not considered an upgrade, but rather Seat Selection.

Hello,
Does it mean the price for the flight ticket can be reimbursed, even if I do not buy any seat or bag? I saw you said "~$49 airfare for two (coded as passenger ticket)" Thanks! |
