I decided to purchase bags as the same time of booking to save $10 a bag. Since the bag fee was bundled with the airfare, no automatic reimbursement.

Neuro0 ... even though there are older data points which show airfare and bundled baggage to be reimbursed, yours seems to be among newer data points that show airfare overrides bag fees in the latest AMEX algorithms for reimbursement.
You may have some luck chatting or calling AMEX customer service for a manual triggering of available credit though. Good luck!

No automatic reimbursement for baggage when bundled with airfare purchase. That's what the AMEX rep told me when I switched to Spirit this year. So I made separate purchases (although somewhat more expensive for bags that way) as follows and did get auto reimbursement for the baggage fee ($70) and the $9 club fee ($59.95) on Aspire card after 4 days:
:
1st transaction: $9 club $59.95 (coded Spirit.com/Misc Tax & Fees)
2nd transaction: Ticket purchase: $425 (coded Spirit Air South Florida, FL/ Flights from ....)
3rd transaction: Baggage fee $70 (coded Spirit Air South Florida / Misc Tax & Fees)
Trip insurance $37 (coded Spirit Travel Guard Stevens Pt., WI)

Seems Spirit has a new longer than a year options for the $9 club that could help harvest some of this Amex credit for those with the $200 or $250 variety. The Spirit Saver$ Club retained the same price as the $9 Fare Club and introduced two new additional membership options:
- 12 Month Membership = $69.95
- 18 Month Membership = $99.90 (Save $5)
- 24 Month Membership = $129.90 (Save $10)

Does spirit offer the option of refunding a ticket to a travel voucher if you cancel within 24 hours of booking?
Trying to figure out how to get some value out of my credit expiring tonight and $9 fare club isn’t my first choice .
I don’t have any upcoming travel so booking tickets under $100 with the flex option crossed my mind but that only allows one date change.

I just bought SAN -> LAS, did two one way tickets that were ~$55ish a piece hoping it would trigger.
No luck.. I paid for the Spirit saver pass ahead of time to reduce the ticket prices a bit, the pass was reimbursed but the tickets were not.
Ended up upgrading both to big front seat after seeing the pass be credited back, but not the tickets. Both big front seat upgrades credited back in 3-4 days.
