Targeted: Link MR (USA) to Amazon account - $20 free amazon stuff
Various blogs are describing this. I don't know which one to point to. Just google SWP20AMR and pick your favorite. I was able to use this on a $25 Whole Foods card, and my final cost was $4.99 + 1 Membership Rewards point. It's supposedly targeted but worked on my amazon account and my wife's. Sorry if it's already posted.

Worked well for me. Make sure you choose to pay with Membership Rewards points at checkout.

The gift cards I bought were sold by some third party merchant. So YMMV. And for the best bang for your MR points, spend only 1 point for a $0.01 discount. The article I read at dansdeals had easy to follow step-by-step instructions. Sorry to hear it's not working for some people. All 3 of my family's amazon accounts worked.
