Several years ago when I saw someone on FT mention something about selling expired ones on ebay I was shocked to see there were 2 that had sold for several hundred dollars each! People will collect anything I guess. I am not sure what they go for today, have not looked for a while.

It's a hobby, the same as collecting postage stamps, coins, paper currency, Beanie Babies, swizzle sticks, or any other commercial artifacts.
