Anyone know how long it takes for the transfer from Amex to BW? Is it instant?

I'm also looking for data on how long it takes to transfer from BW to Southwest. This should give me the extra points I need to get the Companion Pass.

Transfers are normally immediate, but please allow up to 48 hours for the points to be transferred to Best Western Rewards.

Amex is seriously getting ghetto. Removing real benefits and giving us BW!

Why the scorn? Best Western is not a new Membership Rewards partner, and the bonus is offered by Best Western, not by American Express. If their program doesn't interest you it might be because you haven't looked at their properties outside of North America.

Thanks. I should have done a more thorough search.

Transfer completed in 48 hours as predicted in the thread you provided. It helped me get the companion pass, which will be good for almost two hears. Great value, and worthwhile use of some of my Amex point stockpile.

Given that on average 1000 BW points = only about $5 worth of room, it's a poor deal to transfer Amex to BW. Even with this bonus, that's only $7.50 for 1000 MR! Diners' Club's transfer rate of 1250 : 3300 is more realistic!
Another way to view it 1000 Amex --> 1500 BW --> 300 miles of most airlines vs. 1000 Amex --> 1000 miles directly on participating airlines.
Of course, it's tolerable/ better than nothing for the OP who was so close to a sWN companion pass!

I would say that 1000 BW is worth about 7.00 per in room redemption.

But Amex MRs aren't that valuable anymore. Not much in trading partners anymore. So BW with a 50% bonus isn't the worst trade in the world.

Would like another BA 50%. Now that I would go for.

I agree. In the western half of the USA I stay often at Best Western motels - mostly so that I can accumulate BW points to use in Europe. I know some very excellent BW hotels in Germany and in England ...

I may transfer some MRs ....
