FAQ
Q: Where is the lounge?
A: Terminal 3, F concourse, right by Gate F2 (formerly gate 75) and the F-1 security checkpoint (that has PreCheck, sometimes).
Q: Can I visit there if I'm departing from another terminal?
A: Absolutely. Security at SFO will let passengers departing from any concourse at SFO go through security in any concourse, even ones that aren't connected behind security. At the moment, Terminal 3 concourses E and F, and International Terminal concourse G are connected airside to the Centurion lounge. Some other concourses are connected to each other airside, but not to the point that you can walk airside to the Centurion. However, with a PreCheck security lane right next to the entrance to the lounge, it can be quite easy to clear security twice if necessary.
Q: Can I visit if I'm arriving at SFO?
A: It depends. If you're arriving in the aforementioned concourses E, F, or G, then yes, but only if you have a connecting flight. If you're arriving in one of the other concourses, then security at SFO won't let you clear into E, F, or G without a boarding pass departing SFO that day. If you're arriving internationally, again, you'd need a same-day SFO departing boarding pass to clear security.

Stopped by last night after my flight from SAN. I thought the pork shoulder was very tasty, but I didn't care too much for the barley or pumpkin dishes.
I asked about a candle on the way out hoping maybe they had 1 or 2 left somehow, but no luck. I'll be trying the breakfast when I fly out on Monday.

I'm here now on a Saturday afternoon and it is very pleasant. Not crowded at all. Since I have never really used the AA or DL lounges through the Platinum Card, and living in San Francisco, this lounge, as well as the planned one in Miami, make AMEX Platinum worth the annual fee for now.

This is my second visit and overall I am very impressed with the lounge. I am a wine drinker and love the tasting bar and selection available. Foodwise, it's much better than most airport lounges. I don't eat meat and still found the selections fine. The one question I have is why they ask for an airline boarding pass when their own rules state that, you may visit "as long as you have a valid America Express Credit or Charge Card." I work for the airlines and often don't have a boarding pass to show even though I am flying. I have called three times to ask about this. Twice I was told that you do not need a boarding pass to enter and the other time I was told that you need to show something verifying you were on a flight (which goes directly against what they say, which I quoted above). In any any event, I give it a thumbs up and enjoy having access to this great lounge!

I was here on opening day. It was pretty solid, and I will definitely be back. It may convince me to keep my card.
As a local, I also had concerns about "The Frisco" but I checked out the recipe online and realized it's not a new name at all.

Was there last Friday morning. It was somewhat crowded but I still managed to get an open table and people didn't seem to stay long. Service was good and they're quick to clear tables / take plates away.
I ended up staying for when they switched over to the lunch selections and the transition was very fast. The food was decent and definitely miles ahead of the normal united clubs in that terminal. My only complaint is regarding the rice and the difficulty in scooping it from the serving bowl without either spilling some or grabbing the bowl for stability. I'd prefer individual small plates of rice or a bigger / heavier bowl to scoop from.
I'll be stopping by again on Wednesday and expect it to be much more crowded due to holiday travel. I've only been to the LAS Centurion Lounge and the food is comparable.

Has anyone accessed the lounge upon arrival from a different terminal? Seems like it would not be possible but thought I would ask the experts.

Other than the refundable ticket trick, I don't see how you could get through security.

You can get a gate pass from United or American to visit their clubs that are behind security. But, they can issue a version of a BP. Not sure how Amex could do that unless they put a concierge type person near check in or made an arrangement with an airline to do it for them.

I went to the SFO Centurion Lounge even though i was departing via International Terminal A which does not connect directly (Terminal G does) and i had no problem entering security and leaving. Excellent lounge, shower, and bar options!

However, if you arrive, you have no way to get into a different terminal unless there is a direct (air-side) connection between the terminals.

On my visit it was well seasoned and moist. Can't say the same for the rice though. An exposed bowl of white rice under a lamp/warmer? It was so dry and hard, you couldn't even scoop it!
As for drinks, the bar was missing two spirits needed for drinks on their menu.
Wine tasting wall to the rescue.

So, the SFO lounge is in UA territory? It's my usual domestic airline (sadly) but we'll be flying American to MIA in January (where, I gather it's touch and go whether the Centurion lounge there will be open in time).

If you're willing to arrive early and clear security twice at SFO, you can access the Centurion Lounge before going to terminal 2 to board your AA flight. While I hope the MIA lounge will be open in January, I certainly wouldn't count on it.
