PRG and BGR Airfare Triple Points via OTA?
It used to be you earned 3x points on the card when charging airfare at an online travel agency like Travelocity. Is that no longer the case? I'm looking for actual recent experience.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Anyone else notice the new terms for the PRG gold bonus categories on the recent statement? Basically it clarified that 3x on airfare is only valid for airfare purchased directly from the carrier (excluding 3rd party services like priceline, etc), and 2x Gas/Groceries is only for domestic (US) purchases. I can post the exact language later, if needed.
Edit: My post is in reference to a Personal PRG card (not business). I have not actually had any recent experience with OTA purchases.

PRG May 1st 3x Amendment
Anyone have experience with this:
"...on or after May 1, 2013.... total of 3 points for airfare on a scheduled flight charged directly with passenger airlines..."
Does the 2xUR + 3xMR for flights booked via Travelocity still work?

I hadn't heard about the amendment. I bought a flight for my wife and I May 1st with my AMEX PRG at Travelocity via Chase's mall. I already received my UR points, but I haven't been able to locate a line-by-line breakdown of points earning at MR's website. If someone can walk me through it, I'd be happy to verify.
For the record, the UR points are a strange number. The two tickets were $592 without taxes, and I received 1101 points. It's my understanding that you're not supposed to get points for taxes. I should have received 1184. That being said, I'm not complaining and will take the 1101 points.
If it turns out I don't get the triple points from MR too, then from one perspective, I will have only really lost 1x if I had purchased my ticket directly with the airline... and I will have learned from the experience.

Yup, if anyone can update on this from a recent charge, I'd love to know. My BRG is as good as gone if I have to book directly with the airline. Chase Sapphire Preferred then becomes the next best option with effective 4X UR on travel - and you also earn on all travel, not just airfare.

The last time I purchased a ticket the pending charge appeared as Travelocity, while the final charge appeared as American Airlines. This suggests that American Express does know how the ticket was purchased and could disallow the bonus if they choose. I cannot say how they implement this in practice, but should be easy to test because the bonus points typically post very quickly (well before the points for the underlying transaction.)
