What's YMMV? And do you have evidence of them promising points, i.e., screenshot or is the SM still saved? Pretty much all I said was that I would greatly appreciate it if they would please honor the bonus, as I was told that I was eligible for it and I would not have otherwise applied for or activated the card. The person who credited the points is from the "Email Servicing Team, American Express Interactive Services", if that helps at all.

I do have the SM, and have includded it with my letter to MR Correspondence (that's who I was told to write now that it's been officially denied). Thanks for the tip about the Email Servicing Team, although it sounds like since it was escalated and denied that it can't be overridden in the system at this point. I have no idea if that's really the case, but that's what the CSR I spoke with told me (and she seemed pretty sympathetic). I'll post back on the outcome.

I think I tweeted generally my frustration that I might be deprived the points. I'm not sure if it me or a FT friend who added @askamex into the twitter conversation. but, immediately, they were right on it - and told me to email them the info rather than snail mailing it to a PO Box. I remember staying late at work that day so as to get the letter done immediately. And the response was positive and quick. I'll see if I can find the conversation in twitter, but it just may go back too far.

Success. My 100k bonus had not posted after 8 weeks, no pending. When I activated the card, I confirmed I qualified. Had sent SM 7 weeks in but got the "sorry, since you have a Gold card you didn't qualify." I had called 3 or 4 times over the first few months to verify on the phone that I did qualify for the 100k so I could build a case. Each call I had them enter that I was entitled into the notes. Called after 8 weeks and very nicely asked to speak to MR, asked when I could expect the 100K bonus to post, she referenced the notes on the account and 5 minutes later the bonus pts were posted. If you make a stink when they say no your account is gonna get noted with a big fat DENIED. Just simply say thank you, hang up call back and repeat until you get the response you're looking for.

I sent a message and called, but they don't want to give me the 50k MR bonus for the PRG. I have my screen shot, but they don't seem to care, so will just cancel most of my accounts including Plat, Business PRG, and Delta Plat, don't have time to argue with them about it.

If, as it appears, you currently hold a personal charge card you are not eligible to receive a new account bonus for any personal charge card. This is explicitly disclosed in the offer terms. There doesn't appear to be anything to argue about.

After three (almost four months) and many (nice) phone calls and notes on my account about why they couldn't figure out why my points had not posted, the rep told me today I was declined the bonus because I have a business platinum card. Good thing I took screenshots! Next step is waiting for a case resolution specialist (or whatever) to look at it. Anyone else have that problem?
