I received the targeted offer after having had the business gold card for about one month. I took the offer.

Just wanted to verify but I'm assuming that like most other cards (Chase/US Bank) the annual fee does NOT count towards the minimum spend. Is this correct for the $450 fee on the platinum?

Mine was a different case. Applied both Plat & Gold one day after another.
Yes I got both 100 + 50k.

On another note, I just got a mailer for a Business Platinum card with an offer for 100k after 5,000 in 6 months! Annoying to do two 450 annual fees in a 3 month period but with all the bene's it's worth it!

is there any way to request AMEX to mail you offers or to get on their radar? I have around a 750 credit score and I get nothing from any CC company

I've done the Priority Pass and $200, have all year to burn the 100K.
BTW, just requested the EMV chip, it is on the way.
You can request a chip on the Amex Plat? Is it Chip & Sign or Chip & PIN?

what do you think of this?

Income: 60k
Age: 21
Score: 750-760 (used credit karma)
1 credit card, <1 year credit history.

I plan to apply for AMEX Platinum (the Mercedes version). Pay the $475 fee, use the card for a year. Get the 50k reward points. Then when a better deal comes out for AMEX GOLD PR, I will apply for that as well, get the bonus. Then I will cancel my AMEX Plat before the next annual fee is due. By then I will have used the $200 airline fee credit or whatever, and combine the MR points with the AMEX Gold offer. Will this work? How will it affect my credit

It is quite odd to have such a decent score, with nearly no history. Even tons of $$ won't make it go up like this, I wouldn't really trust Credit Karma, you might want to actually pay up for a FICO score. As a young credit user, history is one of the biggest drivers, then actual paid off loans.
