I'm slowly learning that the only Amex cards to keep are the branded MR ones, ie Fidelity Gold or MB Platinum.

Does SPG Gold expire when you cancel the card?

Or, say on Jan 2nd 2014 I have the SPG Gold noted on my Starwood account. I cancel the card on Jan 6th 2014. Would the SPG Gold stay on the Starwood account until Feb 2015?

As you applied and were approved for the Platinum first, you disqualified yourself for the Gold bonus.
Does anyone have experience with this? Has anyone had an amex bonus or amex app killed solely because of another amex app on the same day?

Can someone please post the links? I don't see where the links are to apply for plat or prg in post one. It just takes you to travel summary site with more blogs.

Disregard....I figured it out

Your application won't get killed. You just won't get the bonus, and Amex will tell you to pound sand when you complain. Has happened many times.

Answers from Amex CSR

I just called Amex, got two things from CSR:

1) Having business version of Gold/Green card, like Business Gold Reward in my case, will not affect the bonus the personal/consumer card application.

2) Only the first card approved will get bonus, the 2nd card will not.

My application has 14-day pending.

Had to make an app-o-Rama out of it. Wasn't going to until the end of the month, but applying for just one card would've felt so wrong... 4 approvals and 3 delayed decisions. Feeling good about at least two of them.

That's a nice blast from the past. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there has ever been a public 100K offer from Amex Plat. Back in 2010 we actually had to game it in order to get those extra 50,000. May it be an indication for better things to come?

Meh. Got pending. 12 cards in last 3 months can do that I guess...

No, but I've spent way too much time reading forums. It's possible to slip through the cracks and get both bonuses, but that's the exception rather than the rule.

This is going to be interesting... just did an AOR a few days ago requiring 5K in 3-4 months, now adding another 3K lol... no VRs where I am.
You upgraded your SPG card to a Amex Gold Charge Card? How do you do that? Did they take a new application for the Gold Card? These are different products and it is not possible to do a PC.
