Re: ACTUAL Exciting News!
Beginning January 1st, 2003 US Plat/Cent Members will enjoy an enhanced Airport Club Program. Delta's Crown Room Club joins NW/CO in granting access to clubs in NY, London, Atlanta, and 39 other cities.
The program for Delta is the same, with the ticket for the same day on DL. Stay tune for the official press release in January. Further the January "Preview" will feature this info, along with other enhancements. Please do not call Plat/Cent/Delta Customer Service, as they will deny this. |
Thanks for info. You say that this lounge access applies to US members. Do you think I'd get in if I present a UK card? (They'd have to check carefully to tell the difference wouldn't they?)

Hi,
I think they can tell easily by the first four numbers on the credit card? Prior to APril 2002 there was a simlar issue regarding US Amex Plat access to VS clubhouses ( up to April 2002 only UK issued Plat/Centurion cards were given access , since then only UK Centurion) Regards TBS |
At CO & NW lounges CSRs swipe the AMEX cards to get instant confirmation (or denial), so if DL goes the same route you wouldn't be able to use your UK card. Having said that, European AMEX Platinums&Centurions include free Priority Pass membership, and most DL lounges in the US are included in PP.

I just got the mailing today.
Nice added perk. Almost makes up for Delta's change in their FF plan. |
I got the Centurion notice in the mail. It includes a 20% bonus deal when you transfer MR points to Delta from Jan 1-Feb15. Also each member gets to use the Crown Room Club conference facility once during this period.

My letter too had the 15% offer as a Platinum ...
My letter also says I can use the conference room facilites once for free between 1/1 and 2/15 for up to six hours ... |
Easy to spot the difference for the cards:-
Turn them over and look at the phone number on the back http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif How do you tell the difference between a UK Platinum Charge Card and a Platinum supplementary card on a Centurion account? Look what colour the amex logo is on the back, if its black its part of a Centurion account. UK cards start 3742 for Charge Card products. Like someone said, we get Priority Passes which will get us in anyway. You may want to phone AmEx and ask which lounges you can use, you may be surprised http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Thanks, Richard |
What is that thing about priority pass ? I'm Amex plat in FRance and haven't heard anything about this; Also, anyone knows when Centurion is coming to France ? ...
|
UK Platinum and Centurion holders get a Priority Pass (www.prioritypass.com) free of charge.
Unfortunately, only UK members get this, not Amex holders from other countries. I switched from NL Amex Plat to the UK one for this reason. And because the UK product is cheaper (NL E550 vs UK GBP275) and offers more benefits. |

Hong Kong Centurion card holders get PP as well.
|
Platinum cards issued in Switzerland come with PP too.
