I need another Virgin Atlantic transfer at 2:1. Gotta get my 4X Hilton point fix! Devaluation has actually decreased the points needed at 3 of my fave properties: Hilton Anaheim (Disneyland); Doubletree Lake Buena Vista (Disneyworld) and Waikiki Village Resort (Honolulu). 250K MR points to 1 million Hilton points equals about seven 5 night stays at those hotels. I'll take it--and the free breakfasts for being Gold!

DoubleTree Lake Buena Vista is generally available for around $100 a night (not accounting for their "return within a year and get 3 nights for $149" offers). 7 x 5 night stays is therefore worth about $3500.

Personally, two First Class return tickets to the US from London would offer better value from those 250K MRs (converting to BAEC with a 25% bonus).

Obviously YMMV, but might be worth looking at other options.

How often are there transfer bonuses w/ airlines?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to transfer my MRs to either KrisFlyer or VirginAtlantic. Does anyone know from experience how often they old transfer bonus deals? Doesn't look like there are any going on right now with any partners.

Thanks!

To my knowledge, SQ has never offered a bonus. VS offered a 35% bonus late in 2012. To be honest with you, unless you know something I don't, VS is a horrible transfer partner even with a bonus, especially with the (further) demise of HHonors. KrisFlyer, on the other hand, is probably the best transfer partner; I would transfer there.

Srsly? If you put heavy premium on being able to redeem J on SQ as opposed to other *A airlines, then yes it's a decent program. Otherwise, there are other good transfer partners.

Not educated, but from your lips to God's ears. Its been a long while since one, and I'm looking to transfer 6 figures when it (hopefully) comes around.

I would think one is coming within the next month or two... they usually have 2-3 per year and the last one ended mid-January.

Any predictions on when the next Delta transfer bonus is going to be coming along? Are there usually 1-2 bonuses to delta per year? This is my first time holding a card with MRs but I won't keep it past the AF. Hoping there will be a bonus before then.

I believe it has been almost 2 years since the last DL promo. Not very hopeful of another one happening soon.

That's what I thought, but I was hoping I was incorrect. Looks like we'll just jump on the next BA bonus that comes along.
