Prediction on Transfer Bonus Later this year

Since I am sitting with 220K+90K Amex points, thinking about the transfer bonus now....

The 40% bonus to BA Avios and 35% to AF Flying Blues ends & less likely to happen again later this year.

Usually in the past, Aeroplan and Delta also offer transfer bonus. Likely again later this year?

Thanks

I believe DL transfer bonuses are gone, at least for near future. I am glad I stocked up on DL last time the bonus happened.

AC bonus might happen in near future. And from past experience, BA and FB might also reoccur in near future (late 2012 or early 2013). Also not so lucrative SPG, HH (in the form of discounts etc.) bonus might occur. AMEX is losing value, it might be helpful for them to try to sign up AS, US etc.

The AC bonus usually runs from late November to mid-December, but it's modest in size. Last year it maxed out at 25K bonus for 100K transfer.

I wouldn't hold my breath for DL... it's been over a year since the last one, and it was a rebate back to MR points weeks after you did the transfer. I would think this was done to keep card holders from transferring all the MR points out and then cancelling the AMEX card. With the rebate, you had to keep the account open to get the rebate in MR points.

With the RUMORED changes coming to SkyMiles, DL might be holding-off any offers until they restructure the program. This in itself might indicate that our current Skymiles will retain there value (at least for a while after the changes)... but DL doesn't want us to stock-pile too many "old" miles.

I would really rather see a BA bonus. Right at the end of the last BA transfer I discovered what great values there could be with BA Avios miles. The BOS-DUB 25k r/t redemption is awesome, as well as many BA redemptions within the USA on AA.

I placed a call to AmEx about the "promotion" with BA and they had no clue. The rep sent a case to BA to research and get back to me within 48 hours. I will post the findings if someone doesnt know anything sooner.

It's still there. Looks like somebody didn't clean up after himself. Not sure if it means anything. That last BA promotion only ended a month ago.

It was gone when I checked this AM, but I now see this cross posted on the BA forum:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...-december.html

It does not show on the main MR page, but it does when you hover over / click the BA transfer option.

Special Offer: Receive 30% more Avios when you transfer Membership Reward Points between December 03, 2012 to January 14, 2013.

Works for the US. UK will have to report if they have something similar.

Last one ended last month. It was targeted, though. Mainly to people with low balances.
