Why are most UK Membership Rewards transfer ratios 1000:1000 when Sterling is worth 50% more than the Dollar?

Transfer rates reflect the competitive environment in each market and are not locked to currency values alone. Membership Rewards Canada has only two 1000:1000 airline transfer partners: AC and BA. The others are 1000:750. I would say this is part of a BA strategy to build market share in Canada.

I did see that offer and opened an Iberia account but found out I couldn't combine with BA until after 90 days the account has been opened so I didn't want to risk not having any award flights because my trip is in may.

Probably due to some kind of contract change that resulted in the transfer ratio reduction. Iberia just had one in December tho.

I am rather new to this but have a ton of amex points. I have read about transfer bonuses in the past. Can anyone tell me if there are currently any transfer bonuses being offered?

There is no current offer for USA issued cards. If there were it would be noted in the Wikipost at the top of this thread. If you cannot see the Wikipost it is because the feature is disabled in your profile (improbable) -or- you are using the Mobile View rather than the Desktop View.

30% bonus on Virgin Atlantic thru 5/31. Could be worthwhile with their current 30% off economy award tickets booked thru 5/11.
