Flying Blue (Air France, etc.) 25% bonus for MR Points transfer in Feb 2012

During February, transfer of MR Points to a Flying Blue account gets you a 25% bonus.

I read it here: http://boardingarea.com/blogs/viewfr...m-flying-blue/

Would have been nice to have this for a PPT trip last fall!

Combine this with the 50% off FB rewards and their fuel charges may be bearable!

Keep in mind that miles in Flying Blue EXPIRE in 20 months if there's no flight activity or you don't have elite status with them. Transfers from Amex do not extend the expiration of their miles.

It'd be very tempting if they extend their 50% off promotion past Feb.

How many FB miles is a trip to PPT (from WAS area) and what would the associated fees be? I don't currently have a FB account, but wouldn't mind making one if this is a good deal...

EDIT: Also, how many SkyMiles are required for a DL codeshare flight on TN via LAX? May wait for a DL bonus as well, but I'd rather fly on AF than TN if the value is similar.

Yes and no.

They do have 50% off promotions every two-month period, but destinations changes every time. You can be lucky that your destination is available for more than 2 months, but it can also be gone after 2 months.

And again not worth for IDC holders, even this promo seems not only to be for US cards, the transfer ratio from IDC's to flyingblue is only 3:2 and even with the 25% bonus it's not worth to transfer to them.

Unless you want to top off the account with a small amount. So never say never, but I agree it's no good deal.

That's what I thought - thanks.
