Blue for Business was removed from American Express website when Blue Business Plus was introduced. The offer from March 2017 is still HERE, but the [Apply] button redirects to Blue Business Plus.

A copy of the terms of the March 2017 offer is attached to THIS post.

Yes, but the Everyday card did not exist when this thread was started.

MR earned with Blue with Business is not eligible for transfer (see here: https://rewards.americanexpress.com/...&mrk=&stoken=#) UNLESS the card/account is linked to other MR transferable accounts (eg. Plat, Gold, Green).

And then on top of that there's regular feature of the card with is a 30% annual relationship bonus. So it seems like it's actually 2.3x MR for a year on everything in the long run.

Offer ends 1 Feb 2017.
I signed up for this offer the other day, it said all that on the landing page, but there's nothing about the 10x on restaurants or the 2x on other stuff in either the materials that came with card today or that the website showed when I logged in to confirm receipt of the card today.

Does Amex send anything that explains this promo, or do you just have to wait to see how things post?

And do restaurants post as 10x as soon as they post, or do you have to wait a couple statement cycles to see that?

The bonus should post within a couple days after the charge is posted (10K for first charge, 9X bonus for restaurant up to $2,000, 1X bonus for anything up to $50,000). The base will be posted the statement afterwards (with typical one statement delay).

P.S. First $2,000 restaurant spending within 6 months when total spending is less than $50,000 should earn 11.3X (1X base + 9X restaurant bonus + 1X anything bonus + 0.3X relationship bonus).

Thanks, that all did post about a day after my first charge (which was at a restaurant) posted.

I'm really considering applying for this card before Feb 1, especially considering the sign up bonus only requires a purchase instead of $2-3k of spending.

I know it's been posted a couple of times but the 10k Membership rewards w/ one purchase, 10x on restaurants and 2x on all spending ends on February 1st.

Question goofy letter from Amex

About a week after applying for this card and linking it to my online account (with my other Amex cards), I got this bizarre letter from Amex that sounded scary (additional fees! ) until I looked at the numbers:
Dear sdsearch,

We are writing to confirm your recent request for changes to your American Express card account. As a result of your request to make a change to your account, there are additional fee that will be charged for your enrollment in this program.

The following charges will appear on your next billing statement:
Membership Rewards program Annual Enrollment Fee: $0.00

Total net fee charge: $0.00
Thank you for your Card Membership.

Sincerely,

Membership Rewards Customer Service
What the <bleep>???

Is this a relic of an era when there used to be an actual charge for linking cards that earn "crippled" Membership Rewards points with cards that earn "full" Membership Rewards points, or what? Why do they bother phrasing the letter as it being a fee when there is no actual fee?

Is there much of a risk in MSing this card for the first year for the 2x points up to 100,000? There would be a lot of natural spend on it when there was no bonused spend on other cards. I wouldn't need to cycle my CL and have a high enough income to justify spending $50k a year on a credit card.

A last reminder: Unless they extend it, today's the last day to apply for this offer. (See post 23 for the link.)

Hmmm, this might be a good candidate for paying taxes.
Earning: $50,000 spend x 2.3 MRs/$ =115,000 MRs + 10,000 Bonus = 125,000 MRs
Cost: $50,000 x 1.87% = $935
Cost per MR Point: $935/125,000= $0.00748
Conclusion: I think I'll buy 125K MRs for about 3/4 of a cent per MR

I am planning to pay taxes with this card too. Don't owe nearly as much as you though, just 6k.

Bear in mind that the 15,000 points will not post until the card anniversary.
