[Targeted] Amex Blue Sky: 30,000 pts ($400) - $500 spend - No AF
Just got this offer in the mail Spend $500 in 3 months and get the 30,000 bonus points (equivalent of $400 towards travel purchases). It will be my first card from AMEX. My goal is to build relationship with AMEX and keep it for AAOA.
Question: would getting this card now hurt if I decide to apply later for another AMEX card? I can think of a few cases where it does hurt if you applied for low bonus cards first. So just want to make sure this isn't one of those cases.
Are my chances of being approved lower since I applied and got approved for 2 Barclays cards last week? I assume this offer was printed and mailed to me BEFORE I applied for those cards.
Thanks

Hi,
Sorry if I'm reviving a dead thread, but I just got the offer in the mail lol. Since you guys posted a while ago, I was wondering if you guys did end up getting the card?
It seems like this is a pretty good deal. Is there any reason not to get the card?

Why do you consider it $400 towards travel purchases? Can't these points be xfered to partners at a 1:1 and redeemed at much higher value? Or are you just using the language of the letter? Just want to verify these are the same points we're talking about
EDIT: my bad, these are "blue sky points", not MR points

a family member of mine just received the 30k pts after $500 spend in the mail, and they don't want it. Can I use their RSVP code or is that a giant red flag?
EDIT: answer is no, you cannot use other peoples rsvp codes. phone rep shut me down

Hate to post twice in a row, but does anyone know if blue sky points can be redeemed for points purchases? I'd like to purchase some AA miles instead of manufacturing them, and was curious if I could purchase the points, then have the transaction reimbursed with blue sky points...? Thanks for any info
