Reminder: you must enroll and select Southwest as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase.
Some have suggested the need to wait several hours or even a day before making the purchase, but there are also several DPs that worked without waiting that long.
(BTW, you will often hear people refer to Southwest as WN. WN is the IATA code for Southwest Airlines. SW is the IATA code for Air Namibia.)
Caution: As of late July 2019, reports are that direct gift card purchases are no longer being reimbursed.

In my case, the delay isn't the concern. It's the fact that a smaller EGC purchase the day after the $75 purchase, has already been reimbursed. And the larger amount still is nowhere to be seen, not even on my airline credit tracker.

1/31 $70 egc (Plat) and $50 egc (Aspire). No reimbursement yet, and not deducted from the tracker.
There are now 4 DPs (kapooncha, Drprozac, griff228, and me) who are awaiting reimbursement for purchases made on 1/31. It's highly unlikely that this is a coincidence.

If there was any doubt at all, there are also several data points on the AA reimbursement thread with 1/31 purchases not being credited.

I also purchased a $100 gift card (on Amex Gold) on 1/31 and have yet to be reimbursed. Since then, a smaller purchase ($5.60) has already been reimbursed.

I can also confirm 2 $100 and 1$250 WN gift cards posted on 1/31 not reimbursed yet. Somehow it had to be that date!

Another data point highlighting the Jan 31 glitch. Cards purchases before and after that date have had no issues
With as American express platinum card (previous mercedes benz)
I bought a $50 SW GC on Jan 27 (Credit given on Jan 29th)
I bought a $150 SW GC with the rest of the credit on Jan 31st and still no credit

01/31 - still waiting
I purchased $50 on 01/31 using my gold card. It is now 02/11 and there is still no credit. Has anyone called AmEx yet to see what is going on? I am getting concerned...
