Reminder: you must enroll and select Southwest as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase.
Some have suggested the need to wait several hours or even a day before making the purchase, but there are also several DPs that worked without waiting that long.

(BTW, you will often hear people refer to Southwest as WN. WN is the IATA code for Southwest Airlines. SW is the IATA code for Air Namibia.)

Caution: As of late July 2019, reports are that direct gift card purchases are no longer being reimbursed.
To purchase click here: https://www.southwest.com/gift-card/create-card.html Caution: Do NOT login to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account when making the purchase.

What does appear to work is buying flight tickets less than $100, OR using gift cards to get the charged amount down to less than $100.

Always read the last few pages to get up-to-date DPs.

The only flying I may need to do next year is to Denver. I most likely would be flying with just my 3 children, all under the age of 12.

Is there a way to trigger the credit using Southwest (or any airline) with me being able to use the flights next summer with my kids? I can figure out how to have credits for myself, but because the kids would be unaccompanied minors on the flights I'm making and canceling, I can't figure out how to get the refunds from Southwest into their names.
You can call in and book flights without them being unaccompanied minors. Book your ticket. Then call in and book theirs and have them attach them to you. I had this issue booking a 3 year old to Aruba. Real pain to book separately but if you call in they can do it. Then you will have the ability to cancel their tickets online.

Maybe call into CSR to pay with multiple credit cards?

Yep, you are correct, just logged in and all is fine. Shows full $250 for me. I will book and cancel to see if it triggers the credit. Hopefully nothing chaged with this glitch.
Just to verify I got this process correct, I have to:
1. Set Southwest Airlines and AirTran Airways as my airline.
2. Book a few flights on southwest.com below $100, including tax?
3. Cancel the flights.
4. Cross fingers and wait.

On 12/3, I purchased 3 flights:
$71.98
$88.98
$91.98
Total: $252.94

I have no idea why only $225 is getting reimbursed. Anyone have any ideas?
It looks like the $225 was a glitch like everyone else.

The flights purchased on 12/3 have still not been reimbursed.

I cancelled those flights on 12/6 and used those travel funds + and additional $11.02 for another flight and the $11.02 was reimbursed. My meter is showing $238.98 today.

Looks like I may not be getting reimbursed for the flights purchased on 12/3. I selected my airline and purchased these tickets about 30 minutes later. Was that too soon? Could that be causing my issue?

Would the funds for the flight be in their travel fund to then use within the next year?
I went back and read some more and this seems to be legit to book for someone else so they get the travel funds. Just in case, I've booked a $59 flight today (12/13) and will report back on my DP.

DH Aspire Card
Set Southwest as DH's carrier of choice on Monday 12/10/19
Booked 3 one way tickets totaling $251.94 on Tuesday 12/11/19
Initial Pending Charge: $251.94 on Tuesday
Posted 2 seperate charges as transactions: Passenger Tickets on Southwest Airlines on Thursday 12/12/2019 each for $83.98

Update: Meter Moved on Monday 12/16/19 - used all of my credit.

My Aspire Card
Chose Frontier
Booked two tickets for $44 totaling $88
Credit wasn't triggered within a week; chatted and asked if it would credit. Replied that it was airfare, taxes, and fees. (Only $16 of it was airfare on Frontier's breakdown)
Supervisor credited the $88 on 12/12/19; has yet to post

Fingers crossed that they trigger the credit.

I just wanted to clarify, when you spoke to Amex about receiving credit for the Frontier purchase, you told them that the purchase was for airfare, taxes and fees and they agreed that taxes and fees are supposed to be credited? And the supervisors was willing to credit the full amount even though you told them $16 was for base fare?

Yes. I think I got lucky. My meter moved today and I have $162 remaining.

I'm hoping my cheap $99 charge (after using $10 of a voucher) will trigger the credit.

I didn't buy bags though, and I wish I would have because it's $50 in the booking process (round trip). They want $80 now. Ugh. And my flights dropped $37 each so there's that awesomeness, too. (This is Frontier, not Southwest...)

Do we need to book Business select or Anytime tickets only? Looks like Wannagetaway puts credit back in travel funs for future travel.

I purchased airfare for $71 and EB for $25. Transactions posted yesterday but still no movement in my meter. That's concerning.

Amex acknowledging that taxes and fees are to be credited under the T&Cs is good to know.

Why is that concerning? If you look back at recent dps, it been taking 6 days. It's been one day and you're concerned?

My previous experiences, prior to the GC fiasco, were credits within 24-48 hours after posting.
