Reminder: you must enroll and select Southwest as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase.
Some have suggested the need to wait several hours or even a day before making the purchase, but there are also several DPs that worked without waiting that long.

(BTW, you will often hear people refer to Southwest as WN. WN is the IATA code for Southwest Airlines. SW is the IATA code for Air Namibia.)

Caution: As of late July 2019, reports are that direct gift card purchases are no longer being reimbursed.
To purchase click here: https://www.southwest.com/gift-card/create-card.html Caution: Do NOT login to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account when making the purchase.

What does appear to work is buying flight tickets less than $100, OR using gift cards to get the charged amount down to less than $100.

Always read the last few pages to get up-to-date DPs.

There are scattered quiet datapoints suggesting the above works for those who have selected B6 as their airline.

I think those who are doing that are way more at risk of potential future clawbacks if there are ever eyeballs on the transaction history by RAT

The credit is easy enough to use otherwise

For those a little more experienced, what happens when booking an "Anytime" or "Business Select" fare using a combination of CC + SW GC, then canceling?

Are both payments forms refunded as usual, or does the travel bank come into question?

Are there any DPs showing RAT clawbacks involving airline reimbursement? If so, I’ve not seen those.

Can someone tell me why I can't be logged into Southwest rewards when purchasing? What about claiming the Southwest points months later, since you can claim up to a year later?

Also, reimbursed $95 on 10/10 ($165 total, rest paid with giftcard)

This advice applies when purchasing a giftcard. It has NOTHING to do with American Express or reimbursements, but rather with a flaw in Southwest's website which sometimes causes a giftcard purchase to fail if logged in.

Sometimes it takes a few days after posting for meter to move. Although, I’m not as familiar with DPs on purchasing 3 tickets. Give it a few more days though .

Reimbursed for two tickets ($98 and $93) earlier this month a couple days after transaction. Statement just posted and got 5x MR deposited into acc (personal plat). Is this normal or will they eventually take it back.

sorry if question has been asked before, I tried looking for answers but couldn’t find.

You will earn points on those purchases despite being reimbursed.

Does using a travel voucher + Amex CC work to get auto-reimbursement?

Or must a gc be used?
