4/4: Selected Southwest as Airline
4/5: 24 hours after selecting, purchased $250 eGC via the website
4/8: Charge posted to my account (though the date shows 4/5 even though it didn't show up until 4/8)
4/10: Meter went to $0
4/11: Charge Reimbursed (with the posting date showing 4/9 even though it didn't show up until 4/11)
4/4: Selected Southwest as Airline
4/5: 24 hours after selecting, purchased $250 eGC via the website

seems like GC purchases are working. What about ticket purchases? I need to buy tickets in the next day or so. Will be appx. $436 total.. any data points on the credit being applied to the fare?

4/10ish - Requested switch from AA to SW as a courtesy after AA started having issues. Granted due to long relationship (1981) w/ Amex. (Showed up immediately as Southwest.)
4/15 - Purchased $250 eGC
4/15 - Went pending for quite some time and was never emailed (48+ hours -- instead of the "up to 12"). So contacted Southwest on Twitter who said can take 72 hours but "pushed it through."
4/18 - eGC arrived. purchase posted.
4/19 - $250 credit issued & counter set to $0 available.

4/23 called Amex to update from AA to WN, not an issue because the fee credit hadn't been utilized.

As of 5/04, nothing. Benefits bar is still at $200 and no credit.
My turnaround time after selecting the airline was like 15 minutes. Probably too quick.
