Reminder: you must enroll and select Southwest as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase.
Some have suggested the need to wait several hours or even a day before making the purchase, but there are also several DPs that worked without waiting that long.
(BTW, you will often hear people refer to Southwest as WN. WN is the IATA code for Southwest Airlines. SW is the IATA code for Air Namibia.)
Caution: As of late July 2019, reports are that direct gift card purchases are no longer being reimbursed.

12/23 - $100 gift card purchased
12/25 - $100 credit
12/27 - $150 gift card purchased
12/29 - $150 credit.
I think I'll try the full $250 this year after seeing so many people post successes with it.

I agree, seems like there's no reason to split them up. $250 gift cards have been reimbursed by several people here.

What does everyone SW gift card charge show up as in their AMEX account?
I bought a $200 gift card on 1/13/19 and the credit still has not showed up. My charge is showing up as SOUTHWEST AIRLINES DALLAS TX. When i click on the charge to see the details there is a ticket # too. Anyone elses like this?

Indeed. It can apparently sometimes take 6 days or so although usually quicker. Even if we don't receive the credit though, at least it's not a total loss since we still have the SW giftcard.
Last year, I recall them crediting it much faster though, like within 2 days.
