sorry if this has been answered already, but if i buy 2 roundtrip tickets for myself and spouse, and from what i can tell, purchase the EMS seats for us separately maybe a day later, (or a few hours later), theoretically i would receive the credit for the EMS seats, right? also if i pay to check bags at the JFK b6 kiosks, possibly that can be credited too? thank you, newbie here, applying for the card soon, figured to do some research first...

airline benefit meter

We usually use this meter as advance indicator that a credit is coming. Now I'm experiencing a completely reversed situation. My B6 airline credits totaling $200 posted to the account 5 days ago. But the benefit meter is still showing that $0 credits have been used.

If I purchase a Jetblue flight that costs $200, and use my 6,000 TrueBlue Points, and remaining ~$140 with American Express Platinum, will the $140 trigger the Amex airline credit?
Do I really need to wait a day after switching my airline to Jetblue?

Platinum

9/16: Jetblue selected as airline
9/16: Bought 4 OW tickets at $103 each in 3 separate transactions - I wanted to test to see if they billed separately once posted
9/17: All 4 charges were shown separately - meaning when buying two OW tickets together, they posted as separate transactions in my case
9/18: Credit posted.

Pretty slick! Thank you to this thread for the assistance.

Correct, but American Express' automated system sometimes mistakes other type of small purchases for fees. What works at one airline does not necessarily work at others. You need to read the thread for the specific airline to see what is reliably reimbursed.

oh ok. so i assume when i book a roundtrip ticket to Ecuador and each ticket is 1100 plus, it wont "mistake" that as a fee, id rather assume i will buy the EMS seats and amex will accept that part as the fee

Correct - the maximum recognized transaction to trigger AMEX credit is roughly $140. EMS seats should be fine.

i just booked a flight for 2 family members using the AMEX platinum, and chose Jetblue as the designated airline before doing so. The total on the AMEX card right now is pending the total amount, and i had $180 dollars in EMS seats and an extra bag. Should I wait a certain amount of time to see the credit? Or call within a week or so?

i also took a screenshot of the extra fees for the seats and bag, in case i need to call and submit something

thank you

Key here is that JetBlue Airlines processes the (code share) ticket sale as merchant.

Anyone in November have flights in the $80-$140 range reimbursed? Also has it always been that Jetblue doesn't differentiate between Flights vs Additional Collection up to that $140 range?
