I've seen this asked a number of times in last year's thread and I think it was asked already in this year's too. However, I haven't seen it get answered because it seems like it's never been tried.

Someone needs to try it so that they can report back with a data point. I would volunteer, however I've never flown anywhere with JB where they have a Mint cabin and am not planning to fo so any time in the near future. They either don't fly where I'm going (think Middle East or Europe) or they don't have a Mint cabin (such as when flying to FLL or TPA).

Does it cost more to upgrade later than at the initial purchase?

On 1/22 I booked a couple of flights on JetBlue and just picked "regular" seats. Went back in later in the day on 1/22 and booked Even More Space seats for each segment flights as separate transactions. Transactions posted as follows:

1/22 - 3 x $75 and 1 x $57 charges for the Even More Space seats
1/25 - 2 x $75 CREDIT, 1 x $57 CREDIT and 1 x $45 CREDIT = $250 Hilton Honors Aspire airline credit

All in all it took a little more effort than just getting gift cards last year (on AA) but I still find the benefit on the card useful.

For amex personal platinum card. Help would be appreciated, I have never really flown jet blue but am taking boston to nashville flight here in may and the flights looks to be $79 (can do the regular blue upgrade one way for wife and I. Will this trigger reimbursement? Should I do both together or seperate?

Guess if it does, would have $40 left over for drinks or a possible bag or upgrade seat for reimbursement correct? Thanks guys for your expertise.

Based on previous data points it should be reimbursed, however it's of course never guaranteed. Charges will post separately even if booked together.

DP's

Have done 7 transactions throughout January (I needed to use up $800 in Amex Airline credits, spread across 1xPlat, 1xGold, 2xHilton Aspire). Largest transaction was $133.40.

For all transactions (using the most recent example, which completed today):
-Day 0 (ie. Jan 25): I make the charge
-Day 2 (ie. Jan 27): Charges move from being pending to actually posting to my account
-Day 3 (ie. Jan 28): Meter moves
-Day 4 (ie. Jan 29) Receive credit

Do you cancel your flights after you receive the credit?

Have not really seen any DP of this:

If I have a flight that costs $178, can I make a split payment over the phone on 2 CC (CSP and Amex Biz Plat) for $30 on CSP and $148 on Biz Plat to get the reimbursement?
