Thank you
JetBlue TravelBank funds expire a year after you cancel the flight and receive the credit.

The funds can be pooled together for larger flight purchases, but each individual entry expires a year after it was issued (so it's not like air miles where some activity extends the expiration for all dollars or points).

Question, do you have to cancel the B6 ticket within 24 hours to get the TravelBank funds? Or you just have to cancel before the flight (how many days)?

Wanted to make sure. Thanks!

I'm a little late to catch this change. But if I am reading correctly, I can use my Amex Gold to purchase a flight directly through airline, and I will be credited with my Amex airline credit within days. Then, if I need to I can refund, the flight to travel bank credit for later use?

By the latest date that cancellations are still free (Feb 28 2021 currently, hasn't been extended for a while now)

2/8 Set airline to JetBlue via customer service chat. Two hours later, purchased 2 one way tickets in one transaction totaling $176.80 ($88.40 for each ticket). Pending transaction listed as one transaction for $176.80.
2/10 Transaction finalized and posted as two separate airline tickets of $88.40 each.
2/11 Airline credit tracker changed; reduced by $176.80

2/12 Airline credit posted. Two credits for $88.40 each ($176.80 total).

  • 2/6 switched WN (used last year) to B6, immediately showed on benefits tracker
  • 2/7 booked one way ticket for $152.20, purchased exit row seat selection for $67 in separate txn right afterward
  • 2/11 $67 credit posted, meter moved in conjunction, no credit for $152.20 ticket price. Paid for extra checked bag $40. Changed seat to $74 selection, results in new charge of $74 and refund to card of $67.
  • 2/14 $40 and $74 credit posted, meter moved accordingly. Purchased EMS on a different flight for $15, new seat on different flight for $12.
  • 2/18 $15 and $4 (remaining amount) credited.
Looks like top limit of ticket reimbursement is a bit lower than what's currently in the Wiki ($165.80) - I'll update

New card did not know I had to designate the airline. Any chance I can get reimbursed for award taxes and seat selection fees? They were charged in 8 separate small $ transactions.

If the charges are still pending and you set your airline while still pending you may have a chance at the credits posting automatically. It has worked for me in the past when I realized after a charge that the airline hadn't been selected.

But if the charge posted already, I believe its too late.

Jetblue Even More Space redemption

3/10: Bought 2 separate one way, transcontinental tickets using points + $5.60 in tax. In 2 later, separate transactions upgraded to Even More Space seats $94 each

3/14: 3 credits: $94 x 2, $12 for taxes ($5.60 x 2)

I cancelled a trip which had earned Amex credit on a seat upgrade - does the meter reset itself, or will I need to call customer service?

5/3 switched to JetBlue via customer service

5/4 bought two one way tickets around $85 each with separate transactions

5/6 transactions finalized as two separate transactions.

5/8 no movement on the meter yet....

UPDATE: Afternoon of 5/9 meter has moved and later that day my two credits posted.

first time trying the with jet blue so not sure the success rate. I did book and pay with Amex while logged into my jet blue account. Looks like it still triggers credit but seems to talk a few more days than other data points suggest.

Thanks.

I just signed up for the 100k points and looking to take advantage of the airline credit.

hoping this still works as JetBlue appears to be changing there cancelation policy in a few days.

I booked a ticket thru JetBlue however didn’t realize that it’s a AA operated flight.

the credit will be issued through code share from what I’m being told.

do I need to cancel this flight and rebook with a flight that is operated by JetBlue to get the credit or would I still receive the credit if booked on JetBlue but the flight being operated by another airlines.

any help is appreciated and if this has been asked before my apologizes.
