According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)
Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase.Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

In case people are looking for options as close to the $100 threshold as possible, SEA-SFO comes up at 98.20 for main cabin (not the basic economy) on a number of weekdays and weekends in May 2019. I was successful at getting these credited against the annual fee credit with Biz Plat a few months back (am MVPG so just cancelled for wallet credit) and am about to do so again with Biz Cent for two separate dates to use up the $200. Will follow up here assuming all goes well.

Both three short haul flights, just under $200 total, charges were pending on Amex plat but when cleared, <1 week received the credits. Will cancel and have funds go into wallet.

Amex Gold. Purchased on two tickets ($63/$58) on 11/29 around 9:45 AM. Cancelled tickets on 11/30 around 9:30 AM. Due to the weekend, the charge and refund of the tickets showed up on 12/3. Airline credit reimbursement showed up 12/5 for $100.

Say I want to book a $130 flight, which wouldn't be covered by the airline fee reimbursement. Instead, I buy a $50 GC (which won't be covered), and apply that to the ticket. Now I owe $80 on the flight. I believe that if I put that on my Plat with AS selected, it should cover the fee, right? Am I missing anything that would cause this not to work?

Another option: is the $130 round-trip or one-way? If round trip, why not purchase two one-ways (and theoretically be under the $ threshold) for the credit?

$130 is a one-way, if it was RT I would definitely just book two separate tickets. This will be good to know for the future anyway, I'll have at least 3 cards, possibly 4 with airline credit to use up next year.

Bought SEA-SFO for 98.20 for main cabin on 12/2. Canceled 23 hours later. Received 98.20 Amex fee credit on 12/4, 98.20 Alaska cancellation credit on 12/5.

12/3 sub $100 tickets on separate cards and accounts. One account was been reimbursed on 12/7 while the other hasn't. The only difference was the AS airline selection was made just an hour beforehand..

I purchased SEA-SFO for $98.20 as well on 12/7. Cancelled on 12/9 and deposited the funds to my wallet. Charge hit AmEx yesterday and I still haven't seen the statement credit.
