As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates
According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)
Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase.Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

What was the cost of the ticket? There's a report upthread that a $94 ticket was reimbursed. The most recent reports of reimbursement are for tickets under $70. Mine were for $39, $58 x 4(up to the $250 on aspire)

Credit for $0.60 (lol) received for add'l taxes associated with a re-fare.
Odd that the online airline credit available shows $0.96 has been credited.

A silly question here: shall I book 2x$69 ticket in one transaction ? (thought the AMEX will split it into 2 transactions, correct? ) Or need to do 2 separate bookings completely?

I can't recall other folks doing that but also can't say it hasn't happened. I personally booked 4 $59 tickets back to back as separate bookings.

Should work as two passengers, one way ticket. Would be combined for one passenger, roundtrip

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info. I recently got the Amex Platinum with 100K bonus through the credit card match tool. I just got my $200 Alaska credit today based on the following:
3/23/18 - selected Alaska as my airline for the credit
3/23/18 - purchased 3 flights x $68.30 (includes taxes and fees; total $204.90) on the same transaction (SJC to SAN on 9/29/18). Note that these were SkyWest flights purchased on Alaska website.
3/27/18 - transaction posted to my Amex as 3 separate charges for $68.30 each
3/28/18 - credits for $68.30, $68.30, and $63.40 ($200 total) posted to my Amex
3/28/18 - cancelled flights on Alaska website and deposited $204.90 to my wallet

Hmm, I'm having trouble seeing my flights get credited. Purchased 1 flight for $39.20, posted to my account 3/31, but still haven't seen the credit applied. How long does this normally take? Should I try contacting AMEX?

What will you tell them? Flight purchases are explicitly excluded from reimbursement. This only works if their system mistakes the charge for a reimbursable fee. If the system does not pickup a transaction at the time it is made, it may find it a month or so later. That's why the terms tell us to wait four weeks.

Wait it out. You can't call and tell them that you purchased a flight and want it reimbursed. Mine took a week or two

Those of you whose flights were reimbursed, did the charge details show the route and ticket number? I've got a purchase for $97.20 that posted with full flight details, so I'm thinking that's not getting mistaken for a fee.

Just as another data point for Amex Platinum:
1. Purchased 4 tickets (all under $60) on 4/10
2. Actual charges posted to account 4/13
3. $200 in credits posted on 4/16
