Is that for the PRG or PLAT?

The reimbursement process is identical in every respect. The only difference is the size of allowance. PRG = $100 per calendar year; PLT = $200 per calendar year.

Today I asked Amex rep to change it to AS, and right away bought 50 cert. I am going to wait for another 24 hours before I buy rest of them.

Should I buy them 50 dollar denomination or 150 should be fine?

Safer to keep them under $100 each I think. You could do a $75 then another $75 the next day and be ok...famous last words.

The first transaction I did for 50 posted today and I see no change from 200 to 150. I assume it is going to take 2 more days?

If so, then I will buy 2 * 75 and hope that everything is smooth

crimsona Dec 25, 2016 4:51 pm

There's also a difference between doing one transaction of 2x 75, and two transactions of 1x 75 each

I am late in doing this for Plat this year... when I go to United page, it says: We've decided to discontinue the United gift certificate program, so gift certificates are no longer available for purchase.
Did I miss out, or am I in wrong place? I have been trying to find link in this thread....
Thx!

This is the Alaska Airlines thread. See here:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...s-ua-only.html

United has eliminated gift certificates, but has a Gift Registry feature now.

Do I have to buy Alaska A then? I have a gift registry from last year, but can't see place to add to it. So does this mean Alaska A is only option? Thanks!

No, we have a separate thread for each eligible airline: Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Southwest, United.

To qualify for redemption the expense must be charged by the airline that you selected. If you chose United you need to read recent posts in the United thread where others have discussed how to locate an existing Gift Registry. If you still have problems, please post your question in the United thread.
