Reminder: you must enroll and select AS as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. Click HERE to enroll.
As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates

According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)

Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase. Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

I love my CSR card (not to be confused with a Customer Service Representative!) - not getting my Amex travel reimbursement through gift certificates isn't a big deal (Alaska upgrades are almost always less than $200, and I can always book a round trip in two one-way transcations) but it would have been nice to max out on gift certs so I can save them up for the cost of a flight.

Yet another negative AS DP

Tried the gift certificate route once again as the last one quasi-straddled the close of statement.

$50 gift certificate purchased, no reimbursement

It's been more than a week since purchase. Certificate posted. The pending $1.01 on AS which hangs around for several days afterwards (and I am guessing is a place mark for reimbursement) has since vanished.

I'm pessimistic. More DP on successes, please!

No, that's the merchant validating the card. Over time you will see many such charges on your account if you use it to shop online.

I seem to recall in the past there have been "black holes" where this wouldn't work for a while, and then start up again as normal.

Yea this does not appear to be working now.
I purchase 2 $50 AS gift cards on May 24 using my Amex Gold - and I still have not (as of June 6) received the credit back on my online statement.
Back in Jan I did the same transaction with my wife's Amex Gold - and we got credited back within days.
