No luck with Amex Business Gold...if anybody has ideas for this one, let me know. Original offer was in February for 50k points for 5k spend.

Worked for me!
I opened a Plat card acct in April. I saw this promotion this morning, and thought I'd give it a shot. Called Platinum CS today, and spoke to a representative who said he could do it, if I could tell him how I received the targeted offer. Since I hadn't received it, I mentioned that perhaps I had gotten it by mail. He looked up my account, and couldn't see the offer. Without a special code (more than offer ID 3882), he said he'd have to open an inquiry for the offer, and ask his supervisor. He said I should hear in 2-3 days.
I then hung up, called Platinum again, but requested Membership Rewards. I got an amazing representative, and when she asked where I saw the offer, I said I honestly couldn't remember, but know that I saw it online, perhaps via email. She verified that I had met the spend requirement ($1,000) and had already received the 50K bonus points. Within two minutes, she authorized me for the additional 50K points, so now I have 100K points pending in my account.
My advice: go for Membership Rewards. I was very pleasant and mentioned how great it was to get the inital 50K offer, which seemed to make it easier for her to give me the additional 50K points. Thanks FT!

Since I applied in April - tried the new 5748 code, but was told it was for customers new to American Express - not to 1st time Plat customers - I think I have a black mark next to my name - guess I have to keep trying.

I would hang up and call back. I was a first time plat customer, not new to Amex by any means and they honored it for me.

It seems that those who couldn't get the bonus after 3 callings, will not get it. I called on Friday, and very nice rep told me that he changed my 50K bonus to 100K bonus and I will get them when I hit $1K. I already spent $1K and on Sunday, I got only 50K. Called this morning, first lady was not helpful, saying that I will not get extra points. Second call - the same effect, supervisor told me that 3882 has expired and they will not do anything. Third call - rep told me that 'I see that you called this morning and was told that offer is expired'. So, AMEX starts to mark accounts in order to help other reps do not making any mistakes.

Darn, don't have my card in hand yet. I can see it in my MR account though. Anyone get switched to the better offer before they received their card?

Worked for me, denied via secure message then called back and was on the phone for about 8 minutes. It seems 3882 is for people who applied in 2010 and very early 2011 while 5478 is for people who applied more recently in 2011.

This is the one I used. Applied in Feb/Mar timeframe. The rep did ask if I saw this 100k talk online, and she said "its just gone viral that we'll retroactively post these points". So it sounds like as long as you would have qualified per the promotion dates, that they will post the points.

I feel like i just won the lottery. I've had my amex pr gold for 18 months now. They just agreed to give me 50k points since my initial signup bonus was 25k back then.

How long does it take these points to post?
