I just got this email from Amex. I don't know why I am so excited to save $7.05?

Dear: Stimpy

Congratulations from American Express! We hope you're enjoying the 5
songs you purchased on iTunes®.

You'll be receiving a refund to your American Express® Card ending in
XXXXX for 5 songs. The credit amount of $7.05 will appear as
"iTunes Offer" on your statement generally within 5 business days
after your purchase, but may take up to 2 billing periods to appear.

So I take it if one buys five songs for $0.99, you will still receive a credit of $7.05? Does the purchase have to be 5 individual songs or can it be an entire album of 5+ songs purchased as a single transaction?

They don't have a wya to differentiate an album purchase vs individual songs, so you should be safe either way.

can you clarify if you were credited for 5 app purchases, or $5 against a single app purchase? some apps are like $20

That is what I used and had no problems with it.

I received the credit on one of my registered 3 cards. I purchased 5 on Sunday. AMEX covered all but .60 so far.

I got the same email. I purchased 2 songs $1.29 each and one app ($3.99). I'm a happy camper.

iWork11 is coming out on 2/19. The iOS version might come out the same day. I am holding my AMEX card to it.

FYI, you only have to make a purchase to trigger the credit. It doesn't matter how much the purchase is. 4 purchases of .99 songs across 4 accounts triggered 4 $7.05 rebates in my case. Approx. $24 profit!

Did anyone try to buy the $50 gift certificate? It could be real fun if it works with the rebate.

If you register multiple cards, do you have to use a separate iTunes account for each card, or you can make purchases with all registered cards and one iTunes account (and get the rebate for each card)?
