I think most people with a plat card have this option. Login and search referral. Some get a 20k refer bonus, while others get 10k. Sadly I'm the latter.

Edit: see below, supposedly all current cardmembers gets the 20k referral bonus even though only 10k shows up on Amex. This is evidently a glitch in the Amex system. New card members that sign up through a referal of course get the 50k bonus.

If you end up referring someone through this, be sure to secure message Amex (general inquiry) to tell them of the discrepancy. They emailed me back that it's a glitch and everyone gets a 20k referal bonus... So email to get that in writing.

On your Summary of Accounts page, click on any of the balances for your Platinum card. the page should expand displaying the 20k Refer a friend offer. If you then click on the offer, you go to the actual referral page (with only a 10k bonus displayed).

Starwood 10,000 Point Referral
It just showed up on my dashboard this morning (or maybe I just noticed it) but it appears that some of us have been given an opportunity to refer the Starwood Card with a 10,000 point bonus.
New applicants get the 25,000 points after spending $5,000 (10k then 15k after the $5k spend)
Anyone else seeing that? Anyone need a referral?

amex plat 20k vs 10k referral
i think folks are getting confused by the terms here. i also see 20K as the referral amount initially, but when you click through it explains that comes as 10K per referral with a max of 2 referrals. are there folks that see 20K per referral in the full terms of their offer? i so far doubt it.
