This thread was created to discuss questions surrounding AAdvantage miles earning for Delta Air Lines marketed codeshare flights, operated by Alaska Airlines and for Alaska Airlines marketed / codeshare flights operated by Delta Air Lines. At this time neither is possible.

It is not possible to earn AS marketed flights operated by another (other than AA) oneworld carrier, either, as Alaska Airlines is not a oneworld carrier.

Maybe... but they're not supposed to earn miles.

"Cooperative service flights operated by carriers other than American Airlines may not be eligible for mileage accrual." This quote is from AA's Partner page for Alaska/Horizon, which can be found here:

Does "may not" means the same thing as "are not"?
I thought it meant "might not"

Or it could mean "will not." In any event, if the metal is Delta, it won't earn AA miles.

AAdvantage, Alaska Codeshare, Delta Metal?

Flight # AS5647, operated by Delta Airlines

Any idea if this will accrue AAdvantage RDM, EQM, etc?

"Earn miles on American Airlines codeshare flights operated by Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air when your ticket reflects an "AA" coded flight number. Just provide your AAdvantage number when you make your reservations or when you check in for your flight."

Since it's a Delta flight: no.

Just so the OP is clear:

"You can also earn elite-qualifying miles, segments, and points on eligible Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air flights when your ticket reflects an Alaska Airlines (AS) coded flight number."

DL (or any third party) metal is a no-no, however.

So this is the confusing part. JFK SEA is op by DL by has an AS flight number. On the surface, this should earn AA EQM. What AA really needs to do is post a range of AS flight numbers eligible for EQM.

It should be stated more clearly,or should give flight number ranges, but if does not say you you will earn AA EQM. If it is operated by DL it is not an AS flight.

If it's on Delta metal, you won't earn AA miles. You can, however, earn AS miles if you want to start AS as a secondary FF program.
