Interesting delay today DEN to PHX
We taxied out almost to the runway and then stopped. Turns out the seatbelt sign will not stay on. You can fly with broken bathrooms, but apparently not broken signs.
Back to the gate we go :-( |

Sorry to hear that, hopefully, they can put you on another plane.
I knew when I heard the FA tell her coworker these 319s so old and constantly break she jinxed us. Ended up canceling after three reboots and power reset .. Thankfully EXP line got me rebooked quickly Grrrr!!! Plane is brokwn on my rebooked flight as well. I guess it’s not myl day |
That is a new one. I can see some OPS people at AA getting creative having to solve this. Maybe have the FAs walk around with big "seatbelts" signs attached to wooden sticks that they show as they walk through the cabin...or maybe affix velcro seatbelt signs over the current lighted ones and then manually take them off when safe to do so - that would be a hoot.

Back to the gate we go :-( A seatbelt being broken is … a broken seatbelt. The “fasten seatbelt” sign not staying on is a symptom of … who knows what computer or electrical system fault. Need to figure out what that it or you run the risk of a serious issue on takeoff or in flight. |

Back to the gate we go :-( So, by being installed and inoperable, the aircraft is not airworthy for passenger transport. |
I've seen several cases where they have fixed some signs individually, but flipped the wiring, such that the (still electronic) no smoking (or in some cases, turn electronic devices off) signs and seatbelt signs are flipped - when the seatbelt sign is flipped off, the no smoking sign goes off.

Ever seen them change a tire on the fly? It's pretty cool and I've seen it done in 15 minutes.

Sorry to hear about your delay....always frustrating. :(
As the conversation is drifting off from being AA-specific, we shall close this thread for now. Thanks for your understanding. /Moderator |
