It would be the other way if that's the case, Alaska has folks wait to get off on 739s until they have the tail stand installed (so the aircraft can't tip on its tail)

A friend reported this, his gate was next to this flight

It appears that the departure was an hour late. I'm wondering if this was an attempt to board very rapidly for some reason.

Really? How was this done - via steps to the rear door? Were you bussed out? I have never known this on AA. BA and others it happens all the time.

I'm sure that there is an explanation for this. For example, in irregular operations, America West was known to board by last name. I guess their computer system could only print an alphabetized list of passengers.

"My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night."

I'm sure there was, I was reporting what I was told, and I get told it didn't happen or some other nonsense post.

 You asked if anyone had ever heard of this before on AA, to which everyone responded no. I certainly have never heard of it happening on AA. No one told you it didn't happen.

I am sorry but I was not ripping your thread apart. I would never do such a thing and I was genuinely curious. You started this thread and I took it that it was you who had seen this. It is only reading this again that I now see that this was something that you were told rather than witnessed. I would add that I cannot see any answer that suggest that this did not happen. Maybe it is your friend who might be best able to answer further - for unless he/she was having a joke at your expense, he might be able to enlighten us all?

Back to the topic at hand!

I was once waiting on the jetbridge minutes before D0 when the GA came down asking for back row passengers, then led them to board through the aft door.
