International bread and butter cutbacks
Yes, it can get worse.
The 321XLR is causing American to run some trials, ahead of the plane entering service. Specifically, American is looking at eliminating bread and butter with the meal service in both economy and premium economy, due to the limited galley space. The airline isn’t necessarily sure how passengers will respond, though. So ahead of the A321XLR entering service, the airline is trialing getting rid of bread and butter on comparable routes on some existing wide body aircraft, to see if passengers notice. American is expected to run this trial on routes from Boston (BOS), Charlotte (CLT), and Raleigh (RDU), to London (LHR). Then based on the feedback, the airline will decide how to move forward. |

Yea, I read that too this morning, but you probably want to link/reference the blog or X post where you're copy/pasting from.

The bread in economy is inedible garbage to begin with...
|
I was just was served a frozen, cellophane wrapped hockey puck.....I mean roll, in PE, LHR-ORD. Unless there is nothing else edible on the plate, it's no great loss.

I agree the Y roll isn't great, but I've had plenty of Y meals over the years where I was happy to have it to at least add some substance and variety to whatever other muck was being served.

The Pretzel bread is the best part!

AA C Suite be like:

I’m wondering if AA is going to install a full sized galley on the A321XLRs or if they are going to do a 1/2 galley and Spaceflex lavs like IB.
|
They wouldn't have space constraints if they went with the full size rear galley like B6/EY/FI have.
Those spaceflex galleys that IB and EI have on their LR/XLR must be horrendous to work for the FAs for stage lengths this long. |

How did Jetblue manage to do their dig inn-style meals on the A321? The variety sounded like that would take up more galley space.
I could see how the shape of the rolls would be inefficient, but why not try a replacement of (healthily-prepared) potatoes or white rice? Either will stack better than bread, and would probably taste better too given the bread's low quality. That could be spun as a genuine improvement. |
